The inverter (assuming you have the factory inverter) is 400 watts, at 110v this is only 3.6 amps (400W ÷ 110V = 3.63A). It's not up to snuff for a 25 or greater amp draw freezer.

You will at the least blow a fuse, worst case blow the inverter. 400 watts won't run a hair dryer. There are several threads on 12v fridges that people have used that work. Hopefully those campers will chime in.

You’re taking Alberta beef across the line into Az? Good luck, hope it goes smoothly! 🤔

Wrap beef in the white freezer wrap pack in 110 volt freezer (or any air tight container). Add some frozen CO2 aka dry ice. Will be good for several days if freezer stays closed.

I have a 59QT 12v portable fridge for camping and it works well. It draws a max of 60W on the highest setting and the lowest temp I have gotten it down to was 0 degree F.

OP needs to clarify how many watts or amp max draws on the fridge. But from the descrption so far, it says 25 amp watts that is confusing as I dont think household/portable fridge would draw 25 amp at 110 volt. I would assume OP means to say 25 watts, that means a little over 0.2 amp. And peaking at 60 watt, that is a little over 0.5 amp. But what is the startup surge draw?

I do recommend getting a battery pack like the Jackery 1000, so OP can plug into the battery pack, but at the same time plug the jackery into the truck bed using quiet/slow mode(275 watts). This way no fuse would blow on the startup surge and also keep on running without the car running. While the car is running, it can slowly charge the battery pack while powering the fridge.

Thank you. I couldn't remember which member had posted this info before.

Is it amps, or watts? Theres a BIG difference.

The Igloo ICF 18 I have draws 45 WATTS, well within the Mavericks' 300-watt inverter capability.

You want to take some beef from Canadian cattle country to U.S cattle country, over a border that will blindly deny entry to beef. Really? Whether it is refrigerated is pretty academic in retrospect.

I work for an airline and pass through customs many times a month.

Meat is one of those things hands down that US Customs absolutely does not screw around with.

You might be ok but the ramifications of getting caught are not great.

Check and make sure you can bring it into the states. Used to go camping in Quebec with the family (years ago) and were were not allowed to bring meat back into the US. Since we had almost nothing left, as we were headed home, we had no issues.
