The differences in oil from the 70s and today are not that huge. There are other factors that lead to engine longevity including the design of the engine, tolerances of the parts, improvements in cooling, better materials to start with.
A better question would be which vehicle would endure more...
Send button? I just state what I want to state, listen to see if Siri is reasonably close, and then say "send". Hands free all the way, but she has a tendency to really screw up what I say which is mostly likely because the quality of the microphone in the Maverick is very low.
Incidentally...
Point being that I use handsfree but i text people, and siri can't understand plain English, screwing up what i say repeatedly. I mean, is it too much to ask that the words I speak are clearly heard. I suppose it could be Siri (or the software/algorithm involved) that is the problem but I think...
Eastern US - maybe 3500 feet tops. Ran fine, didn't notice any issues.
Now, i took my 99 Explorer with the 4.0L SOHC engine over Vail pass on I 70 several years ago and it was amazing how much power high altitude sucked from the engine. I had cruise control on, was tooling along at maybe 65, it...
Naah - bagged is fine too as long as you put a lot of it in the truck. I used my F-150 to haul a good amount of mulch in bags. It was a bit more expensive, but it was very convenient and I didn't want to take my trailer and buy bulk that time. I've done that too, just pull the trailer to the...
I'm not sure if people stared or not when I hauled some 4X8 foot plywood or a standard 36" wide exterior door, but it hauled them with ease.
What probably turned the most heads was me pulling a 6X12 enclosed Uhaul trailer, which was probably a bit too big for the Mav in reality (depending on...
I'm not sure that it affected all versions of cruise control. I have a 24 Lariat which has the more sophisticated adaptive cruise control, though I don't use the adaptive feature. I just use it as a regular cruise.
They used to be decent to deal with so you could give 5-star a call and explain...
I had a 5-star on my F-150 and it was excellent. Got one for the Maverick and it worked - except - it messed with the cruise control where it would overshoot/undershoot the set speed and I'd have to disable and reset it on hilly terrain. Really a bummer because I use cruise whenever I'm...
If I recall, on the Tremor, the springs are longer and a little softer, made more to deal with suspension travel and uneven terrain. Yes, it sits slightly higher than the normal Maverick, but I think the payload is less on the Tremor also, by a few hundred pounds (probably a result of the softer...
Got the works yesterday - it was $101 here including taxes and fees. Included tire rotation and multi-point inspection. 5W30 Synthetic blend. And a free sales pitch to try to get me to buy all kinds of other services including air and cabin filters and cleaning out the intake.
i picked up both...
You're on to something there - a fully mechanical parking brake for certain, as well as a mechanical linkage for the transmission and a mechanical means of shutting the car off. I have a pushbutton starter, but if a hacker (don't say it can't happen) decides to take control of my care, virtually...
Fog lights and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Something extra but probably won't happen for a long time, self-leveling headlights so when you load up the bed or tie on a trailer, they won't be set to blind everything in front.
