My Hybrid took well over a month from build date to driving it home. Knowing about all the battery issues, the first thing I did was put it on a charger/maintainer overnight, two nights in a row. The charger initially showed the battery charge was "very low."

Once the Ford Pass Points were added to my account, I also disabled all the remote connectivity in the truck settings. I can still have the app on my mobile and can see the points in the app and can still add maintenance entries to the vehicle history for my records.

Of course, my single case is certainly not indicative of whether any of this even helps or not. But I haven't had any no start, no dome lights, etc. issues. Yet.
YMMV

The only fix for my EB going into deep sleep every 2 days was suggested at the dealer after the 3rd visit with no fix was suggested by a Tech. “Remove the app completely from phone and iPad and see what happens. “ Deep sleep and No interior lights hasn’t returned even with sitting for 2 weeks!
9months later, yes I kinda miss the remote start and lock and tire pressures with the app but it’s better than the alternative! I let the dealer know and they had nothing to suggest to get the remote features (that I paid for!!) back on line.

Sometimes you eat the bear…. Sometimes the bear eats you!
You guys help me out; I am confused. I have a smart phone, but I only use it as a dumb phone. I know nothing about apps. The day I picked up my XL hybrid, my dealer and sister fixed it to that I could have a telephone conversation just by pushing a button on my steering wheel, as long as my phone was in the truck. Does this mean that I have an app someplace that I should be shutting off? Help!!!

No, they probably connected only Bluetooth.
I'd think they would tell you if they installed FordPass.

Are you having deep sleep issues ?

I am this close to doing the same except also remove pass and disable both connectivity settings inside the truck.

There are so many variables that its hard to pinpoint the issue.

Thanks for the quick response. I can only tell you this:
1. I don't even know what Blue Teeth are.
2. I have had no Deep Sleep issues, but I start my truck every day.
3. Ford had to replace my 12-volt battery after about 6 months. But, I have learned on this forum that my next change will be to a Die Hard (which I have used in my cars the last 30 years) and not Ford's battery.
If I read you correctly, there is nothing I need to do. Famous last words.

I will ask this question here, rather than start a new post: WHEN/IF I REPLACE THE BATTERY, ARE THERE THINGS I AM GOING TO HAVE TO RESET? (In the old days, you took out the old battery, put in the new battery, and Bob's your Uncle. But, I assume that this is not the case with all this new electronic/sensor crap.) Thanks in advance, guys.

After installing the Die Hard Gold did a BSM reset. Radio stations stayed in the memory so didn't have to reenter them /.

...When/if I replace the battery, are there things I am going to have to reset?...
Probably just the Battery Monitoring System. If you're not up to figuring out how to do that, just take it to the dealer. Everything else should be OK, or will be, after driving your truck a bit.

Thanks, OB. I expect that Ford replaced the battery with a like one, so I want to be ready when the day comes to replace it. I am psyching myself for the $220 Die Hard.

Update on installing of the Die Hard Gold battery which is heading now towards 2 weeks. Has been working great with no issues of deep sleep and clicking under the hood which was all the time but now is gone. I also installed the Die Hard Gold in a friend's Maverick last weekend and his too now is working fine. Interesting that with the OEM Ford battery that was in the Maverick that when the clicking occurred (often) at that precise second there was a slight variation in the battery voltage.
Really like the Maverick but disappointed had to buy "a non OEM battery" to solve the issue. I didn't have the OEM battery installed as a replacement because of the many battery issues found on this form.

I'll help out on the $220 Die Hard psyching!!!! The Odyssey AGM 99.99+ % pure lead with the steel case to keep the plastic swelling deformation in check that has 2200+ CCA for 5 seconds and a reserve capacity of 78 minutes at 25amps and is rated for 400 80% dod (depth of discharge) has an MSRP = $374.99! I have not verified it has a vent but it shows to be the correct size.

Anybody installed a larger battery on their Hybrid? - It appears you can possibly cram a H5 sized battery, which is 1/2 an inch taller and slightly longer into the space under the seat. The thought is those tend to have 90-100 minutes of reserve capacity, if not greater, which is more than double that of the stock battery.

We need higher reserve capacity, not necessarily more amps, since the battery does need to crank anything.

I currently have my charger performing a recovery/rejuvenation for the past 3-4 hours, to see if it then charges beyond 60%, which seems to be the current max its been capable of the past couple weeks. (Installed a BT battery monitor).

Most of the drop is the first 45-50 minutes following off/locking, but then the temps dropped hard last night and she went from 30% (damn backing out of the driveway to let the wife out yesterday morning sucked it from 53-54 to 31 an hour later, to 20-21%. (Yes I removed the neg cable to performing the recovery/repair, not wanting to damage the electronics).

Shame there isn't room for the big Odyssey battery in there.

This one has more than twice the RC of the OEM battery. 150 minutes.

Thanks Rick. When my day comes, I will either go with this or the other auto shop battery mentioned on here. This battery is good for cruise control, lane assist, and heated seats, ALL OF WHICH I DO NOT HAVE, and infotainment systems. I only use my little CD Player that I plug into the cigarette lighter - just Dean Martin and me, cruising chicks. OH! This battery weighs 50.62 POUNDS! The last time I lifted 51 pounds Harry Truman was President.

Just to add my two cents, my truck is at the dealership getting a "gateway module" replaced under warranty. I found another thread where this fixed their battery issue so I'm crossing my finger this works for me too.
