Thanks Rick. When my day comes, I will either go with this or the other auto shop battery mentioned on here. This battery is good for cruise control, lane assist, and heated seats, ALL OF WHICH I DO NOT HAVE, and infotainment systems. I only use my little CD Player that I plug into the cigarette lighter - just Dean Martin and me, cruising chicks. OH! This battery weighs 50.62 POUNDS! The last time I lifted 51 pounds Harry Truman was President.
The group 94 is for the 2.0 Ecoboost maverick and is too big for hybrid

Just to confirm, Ecco Boosts do go into deep sleep mode. Mine has done it again after 600 miles in 3 days, it sat for less than a week and went into deep sleep mode.

It would be interesting to see the people that havent disabled Auto start/stop compared to the people having issues.

Ive had my Maverick a year and havent had a single battery issue, but I disabled Auto Start/stop months ago with the Forscan change. It doesnt sound like Ford Engineers have designed the BMS to allow enough charge, especially with a start/stop system.

Thanks! I gave them "2022-Ford-Maverick-SL-Hybrid-2.5" and this is what they came up with. Thanks again.

I received my Maverick hybrid in the middle of February 2023 and I live in Ohio with cold winter weather. I had zero problems in February, March ,April and through the summer. Then this fall I’ve had the “Deep Sleep“ issues (every couple of days) where the Ford Pass message tells you something like drive more to restore the “features”. I live about 70 miles from CincinnatI. So we drove the 70 miles to visit our grandson. After the hour visit the Maverick was still in the parking lot i got a Ford Pass deep sleep message:( How much do we have to drive??) I often get the deep sleep message the same night or the next day after driving 50 miles.

i took the Maverick to the Ford dealer to check it out. After having the truck for a day they suggested i erase the messages in Ford Pass, i make sure my Ford Pass app was updated, and connect my truck to WiFi and make sure it’s also up to date. All were up to date. And oh by the way we checked your battery and it checked out OK at 9.5 volts! That is the Ford standard for this kind of battery problem. Less than 9.5 volts = bad battery, 9.5 or above = good battery. And by the way the dealer is 15 miles from home so it had some time to charge On the way to the shop. It’s going back. But does anyone know if it’s safe to charge the battery while still in the truck?

We just got back from visiting my brother at 6:00 pm 50 miles away so 100 miles of driving. It’s 10:43 PM and i just checked Ford Pass. Yep there it was the deep sleep message.

“Your Alto (I named it after the color) equipped with FordPass(TM) Connect has entered Deep Sleep mode to conserve battery energy. Remote features including start/stop and lock/unlock may be temporarily unavailable because your battery charge level is low.

You can easily fix this yourself by going for a longer ride. Make sure to keep your air conditioning and accessories off during this drive to recharge your battery faster.

If your vehicle doesn’t start:
- Jump start it then take it for a drive to recharge the battery
- Contact your preferred dealer for further service if needed

Upnash, I'd venture that deep-sleep was within minutes of turning if off? - There's a 40-50 minute period of time immediately following shutdown during which there's a pretty good draw on the 12v battery, until most of the electronics shut down. Contrary to what you expect, right after driving isn't the highest battery voltage level or SoC. (Been monitoring mine for the past several weeks with a little low-power Bluetooth device).

Since the dash, head-unit, and lights all go out, it must be the onboard electronics, but who knows what in tarnation its doing for that period of time, and its always about the same amount of time. Then the SoC & Voltage readings pop up, and will gradually drop by around 1% per hour (give or take). I'm sure the 1% is the radio awaiting a possible Ford-Pass command to unlock, honk, start, or request for vehicle status (tpms/oil-life).

The factory battery does NOT like being drawn low, and never fully recovers. Mine was absolutely fine until I spent the afternoon washing & detailing it, after which I received my first deep-sleep message. Friendly reminder, DON'T do it with the key on your person or within range of the truck , particularly if you have a Lariat with the proximity key. Even spraying water at the handle to rinse it off will cycle the locks, let alone wiping or polishing the area. - Might as well cycle the ignition on/off, and everything turns on for that 40-50 minutes. Ever since that day mine has thrown random deep-sleep messages, although performing a 'Recovery' with the smart battery charger seems to have helped considerably, but still not 100% back, so while it helps it isn't 100% restoration.

Replaced my Ford battery also. Only a year and a half old. Ford said it was ok but decided to spend $200 on a better battery just for peace of mind. Now I will monitor the voltage levels more closely. The BMS was new to me and I ignored it at first. That probably allowed the voltage to get too low for too long and damaged the battery. There is a reset procedure for the BMS after a battery replacement or boost charge.

Thanks Cyborg
I’ve been thinking about getting one of those battery trackers. I’ve been measuring the voltage after i drive the Maverick with a voltmeter. After each long (50 miles+)drive I’ve found the voltage goes down about 1 volt so if you follow the recommendations in the Ford Pass message and drive more your soon down to the 9.5 volts the Ford Dealer measured when I took it in for this battery/deep sleep issue. They just shrug their shoulders and tell you it no codes and “We haven’t heard anything from Ford on this issue” but they did charge the battery and said it tested good.

This is what I think is happening with my Maverick. It’s cold in Ohio and we‘re going to use use our heated seats. When the truck goes into deep sleep the Ford Pass message suggests driving more and turning off electrical features. I think Ford engineers put in an undersized battery and/or an inadequate charging system. The electrical demand of the accessories draws down the battery and the charging system can’t keep the battery charged. I’m wondering if Ford already knows all this and isn’t sure what to do about it. I thought about putting in a higher rated AGM battery but I’m not going to start spending $250 on parts for a 10 month new truck. So I guess if I want the remote start feature to work on cold mornings and use the heated seats I’ll begin putting the smart charger on the truck.

Thanks Cyborg,
I’m thinking the engineers at Ford either put in a battery that’s too small or an under powered charging system or both. I think the deep sleep problem is caused because we’re using the heated seats in the cold weather. I check the battery voltage before we leave for drive and the voltage when we get back and it’s is a volt lower.

I think the dealer knows more about this than they will tell me. The first time I had the Maverick into the dealer it tested at 9.5 volts and they said it‘s OK it meets Fords standard at 9.5 v. Then the second time they tested the battery the voltage was low but it’s “good” . They charged it and voltage was over 12 volts after the charge. The next day after driving with heated seats on it was 11.5 v. So I guess that’s the solution, charge the battery often

Sorry about the repost but my first reply to Cyborg wasn’t showing up so I reposted something similar.
