And you can install the tow hitch bar yourself. I wrote a detailed DIY on it, if you're so inclined. Find a coupon code for the tow hitch from Ford, order the Bronco Sport harness, and looks like you'll have successfully piece mealed the solution..Winning..

@RonR1959 Super.glad to hear the Curt Bronco Sport wiring harness install was straightforward. I take it you got it from etrailer.com? Can you help a brotha out and confirm?
I need to order it since I confirmed the 2022 Ford Escape harness will NOT work.

The hitch price gouging will end once aftermarket jumps in. Not providing simple wiring solution like a pigtail is just lazy engineering.

Not sure how it's price gouging. Expensive yes but you can only charge with what you have to work with today. And today you are removing a rear bumper, replacing rear bar and wiring something that isn't to be wired.

you’re correct, it’s not gouging it’s a Ford part and priced accordingly. But aftermarket’s will be less. It’s more the wiring that is worrying. . They sell the hitch so they must know some will want a harness.

"Price gouging" is just the trendy thing to say on this forum apparently these days. Someone thinks something costs too much?? Price gouging!!! People have no clue what price gouging actually is, what it applies to and more importantly, when it applies to things.

Lol. People on the forum also have a habit of not reading the thread before inserting foot in mouth.

Foot in mouth was you saying price gouging in the first place, like my post said, it seems to be the go to phrase when someone doesn't like how something is priced. 🙄

The last truck I bought that you couldn't easily add a harness to was an early 90's B series
Here they give you a pigtail. Hilarious.

Stick with 30 year old Mazda’s, you’ll be just fine...

Speaking of pigtail/harness. can someone remind me what the DIY electrical pigtail that was placed in the glove box by Ford, is for?

That , I believe, is to plug into factory plug and then to attach to 12v electric item you add into the box at the rear of the bed.

Bed 12V Acessory Plug. My Lariat has one on each side at the rear. I installed a Cig Plug/USB Plug combo with power switch, shown below.

Nice install. Now, I'll go see what kind of relevant and fun things I can connect to a 12V power source and operate. Thx for sharing
