LOL........If the weather is accommodating this weekend here in Colorado, I am planning to give the install of the tow hitch a shot on my own. Fortunately I got a neighbor across the street for a lifeline if needed. @Tundra2Maverick(?) I'm gonna guess that outside of removing bolts and a little tugging, it simple but tedious. I'll make sure to post my efforts if I attempt it.
When you complete your hitch install, I wonder how the original crash bar compares to the optional hitch? Built of the same material or lighter weight construction? Hitch mounting reinforced or same as the crashbar? Adding the Reese receiver to an original crash bar would be easy and much cheaper.

It’s an OEM part and the same specs as the crash car w/o the hitch.

Next problem is going to be the wiring…

Ron, Thanks for the reply and confirmation. I originally heard it was a weld on part which makes sence if it is only the addition on the Reese receiver to the crash bar. I will make the wiring using a Hoppy 4 pin and 7 pin plug like the 4K tow package.

I’m glad you can do that.

I'm taking mine to a place that specializes in installing hitches and harnesses tomorrow morning. I'm not very mechanically inclined, plus have back and neck issues. I'm hoping they can find a compatible wiring harness they can configure and pig tail into the brake lights. I'd hate to haul around a trailer w/o lights.

As far as 4 and 7 pin connectors. If you need to trailer anything with electric brakes you'll need a 7 pin connector and an electric trailer brake. To cover both bases install an aftermarket brake controller and 7 pin connector. You can use a 7 to 4 pin for utility trailers then. That is my setup on the aftermarket trailer receiver and brake install on my other truck.

The problem is, there’s not an OEM nor after market wiring harness for it, and the Maverick isn’t pre-wired. I, like others, purchased a Maverick that a customer had canceled their order, and didn’t add on the towing hitch.

I, like others, ordered a Maverick with the lux package, which comes with the hitch and wiring harness. I got tired of playing the waiting game and was lucky enough to find a hybrid Maverick. I’m selling the XL that I have now whenever my XLT with CP360 and the lux pkg arrives, which I’m predicting will be rolled over into the new model year.

Who said anything about using the oem wiring and harness. So the cluster doesn't tell you the lights are working. The trailer sway control will also not engage because it doesn't know you have the trailer attached.
And yes there are oem parts to get the trailer wire and harness, connectors and trailer module to make it work like a stock 4k tow package install sans the special gearing in the rear. With that said the package would be cheaper than doing it yourself afterwards as an oem setup. Non oem is going to be the cheaper route.
