Toyota has been using 0w-8 in their high volume ICE’s for years now. That might be the low viscosity limit for an ICE? We’ll see:)
🤣and General Motors is now recommending owners of the 21-24 6 liter V-8’s change from using 0w-20 to 0w-40 immediately because of all the engine failures on the main bearings.

They're using that as a stop gap solution. The true issue is the poor machining of their bearings and the poor oiling of the engine. Thicker oil can help slow damage, but it cant stop it completely, hence why some engines are still failing on 0w-40. Just like Toyota's 3.4LTTv6, it's a poor design from the outset.

It just so happens both engines use variable displacement oil pumps instead of the older constant pumps. Surely that has nothing to do with it, right GM engineers?

Just to stay on topic I like to buy my popcorn at Kroger
Yes - just make sure to do it every 5,000 miles or 12 months whichever comes first. Or if your OLM reaches 50%.

Edit - make sure you recycle your used oil! Good for the environment!
OLM WILL BE WAY PAST 50% at 12 months. I do it yearly, that’s < 4 k yearly for me and OLM hits 0

Hello everyone!
I have a quick question.
This is my first time changing oil in my ecoboost AWD Maverick.
The question is can I use 5w30 full synthetic in the Maverick? Thank you so much!
What does your Owner's Manual say?

Ah man--I should have been more specific. I guess either or--salt can be added to taste. Domestic premium for sure. All those on the list and an Amish option should suffice!

Hello everyone!
I have a quick question.
This is my first time changing oil in my ecoboost AWD Maverick.

Yes yes use only Full Synthetic.

Roach oil molecules are all different sizes.

Full synthetic oil molecules are engineered and all made of very small same size molecules.

Stay with me now .

Small molecules fit closely together. Therefore,

You get more oil between bearing surfaces,
Therefore you get far more efficient heat transfer, equalization.
Heat transfer and keeping surfaces from making contact is oil’s primary purpose.

Roach oil is so 1980’s

Blend’s are almost 90% conventional and often only 10% Full synthetic.
The soul purpose of blends is to appease the old guys into thinking both must be better and it’s cheaper, again for the old guys who are often cheap bastards.

Now the guys will light up on this or that brand, pfft get sucked into that if you like.
I use Motorcraft because my Ford is all Ford.
And my Ford dealer, ‘King Ford’ is trusted by me.
If your paying more than $80 for a Ford full service with Full synthetic your paying too much.
$80 gets me the works including tire rotation.

And every fifth service is FREE.
Do the math, about $64 per service.

Motorcraft
Mobil one,
Penzoil,
Napa,
Pick one, and Fagetaboutit !

Also...
The small synthetic molecules don't shear as easily and they filter better.
Full synthetic motor oils resist shear under heavy loads better than conventional oils. This helps synthetic motor oil maintain its viscosity grade, enabling it to offer better engine protection and withstand more extreme engine conditions.
