That's Awesome! I've had similar results with my Maverick:
I've clocked 335 miles in 8.66 hrs (39 mph average)
The 39 mph average is deceiving because the engine clock still runs when parked and stopped.
My actual driving has probably been 70% hwy and 30% city.
I've put it in eco mode each time from the start.
Computer says 41.1 mpg
I'm going to try to keep track of how many miles I drive and gallons I put in over the next several months to check the computer.
Pretty stoked so far though!
Definitely better than the 33 EPA that was advertised!

Yeah next tank I will experiment with eco mode…so far I just wanted to see what I got with normal driving mode

I’m topping out at 400 miles with my EB. 50% increase with smaller tank is great.
Sounds awesome, Just an FYI just viewed a real life milage test and the mileage indicator may not be accurate to the real mileage, but hey anything close to 40mpg is a plus.

WAY better than the 34 (per computer) I am getting. about 70% city too. I've also been VERY easy on it, and in eco mode 90% of the time. Brake coach always shows 90-100% recaptured, with 100% very common. I'm very disappointed.
Your computer may just be more accurate, he should keep track of mileage and gas pumped after a few refills and see the real mpg rather than estimate. Computer is often 5-10mpg off per other users who have tested by tracking odometer and gas pumped values.

In the coldest months I'm fully expecting my combined tanks to be low or mid 30s. Just the way it is for hybrids. It will balance out in the summer tho
yeah, we average 39 in our escape hybrid, but in the cold its more like 35-36..

Just for perspective, last week I drove 1028 miles in my 2017 Chevy Cruze (1.4T auto) and put in 38.67 gallons of gas for a 26.5mpg average ON 93 OCTANE.
That mileage for that car straight up sucks then. On my bigger HR-V I'm getting 36+mpg.

I’m sure they will at some point. They will also probably make a full EV version.
Not sure if I would be as onboard with an EV. I need more range than they typically offer and Batteries and Minnesota winters don't mix well.

Every vehicle has a "sweet spot" for mpg, I found that my 2015 CMax Hybrid's spot was 65 mph. I made a 2800 mile round trip from Va Beach, VA thru the mountains with 2 people and got 48.6 mpg average by driving 65

Ford includes elapsed time, so you can calculate average speed. 500 miles in 20 hours is about 25 mph. Unless that includes a lot of time stopped, just wait until break-in and winter are over.

In both recent Fords, the error is more like 5% optimistic on the dash. TFL screwed this one up.

I have been unable to access this; SW changed in 2020 and it's no longer there.

Turbos are more efficient, if "efficient" is measured as engine lb./hp.

Atkinsons are more efficient when measured as vehicle miles/gal. They are horribly disadvantaged in lb/hp.
https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...rick-engineering-test-mode-how-to-enter.5672/ Engineering test mode should let you change mpg calculations

I do a lot of local driving. Probably 70/30 city/highway. But yeah, it's below the rated 30mpg city, and it's even worse if I use 87 octane.

I did my first stop at the gas station. I got 575miles with 20 miles left to empty, that would be almost 600 miles with 14 gallons. According to the computer average mpg is 42.8 mpg. What is more impressive, is my mpg on the freeway. See below my last two freeway trips back to back, I got over 50mpg..... As mentioned earlier, the city mpg is not that impressive but on the freeway it is amazing.

For those of you that have never owned a Hybrid, a couple things degrade mileage. Letting it warm up or cool down before you drive kills mileage can be 10 or more for you peeps doing the remote start. Also low tire pressure hurts mileage.

Okay what is the amount of gas (in gallons including the decimal numbers) put into the tank on your fill-up?

Real MPG = 575 miles driven / gallons put into the tank.

If you don't have the gallons amount you can calculate it by dividing the total cost by the cost per gallon.

Example for my previous 2015 Honda Fit Ex:

Fill up cost: $23.16, cost per gallon $2.629
Gallons used: 23.16 / 2.629 = 8.809 gallons

MPG = 199 miles driven / 8.809 gallons = 22.6 MPG

Sorry if I miss understood your point, but Steve is giving us his "Real World" 60%/40% driving experience. If we assume he finishes his tank with 630 miles on a 13.8 gal tank his Hybrid Truck mileage = 45.6 MPG

I love the TFL guys, but remember they are in the mile high country and they get reduced mileage.
Actually you get better mileage as the air is thinner, therefore less resistance. You lose power at altitude, less so with turbo engines.
