So now I have 500 miles on the original tank of gas from the dealer, 60% city, 40% hwy in normal drive mode. I drive pretty conservatively but am not trying to milk the mileage. So it’s clear at this point that I can get a little over 600 miles per tank. Your driving style and terrain will certainly affect what you get.

Ford includes elapsed time, so you can calculate average speed. 500 miles in 20 hours is about 25 mph. Unless that includes a lot of time stopped, just wait until break-in and winter are over.
According to TFL the hybrid true mPG is only 85% of the onboard indicated.
In both recent Fords, the error is more like 5% optimistic on the dash. TFL screwed this one up.
If we don't like the calibration of the fuel economy calculator display, we can re-calibrate it - somewhere on this board are instructions on how to do that...
I have been unable to access this; SW changed in 2020 and it's no longer there.
If the turbo were really more effecient,
Turbos are more efficient, if "efficient" is measured as engine lb./hp.

Atkinsons are more efficient when measured as vehicle miles/gal. They are horribly disadvantaged in lb/hp.

Real world but only according to indicated onboard computer. We won't know for sure unless it's calculated at the pump since Ford is nortorious for over optimistic for on screen indicated numbers which they admitted to.
When you say "Onboard computer" are you referring to the # of miles it is reporting. Because I am using the cars reported miles and doing simple math with known fuel tank capacity to get 45.6 mpg.

My Bronco is getting built on 1/17 - I ran cost of ownership between the Mav and the Bronco. My Mav is 23,575 and the Bronco is 42,555. $19k in upfront cost BUT when you look at fuel spend over 120k miles @ $3.30/gal - It's about $11,000 more in fuel to drive the Bronco over that time period.

Can't wait for the Mav.
Hah $3.30 now sounds cheap! We're at $4.50, so the differential is 36% more...

Yes. The indicated mog number on the screen on some
ords are known to be too optimistic.

Have seen a lot of owners fill up the tank , do the math and the numbers are almost exact...maybe a tenth or two off

I am at 42mg with 500 miles. Interesting thing I have noticed is that the gas mileage on the freeway is much better than in the city. Is kind of weird but as long as I get my average around 40, I am more than happy.

That's Awesome! I've had similar results with my Maverick:
I've clocked 335 miles in 8.66 hrs (39 mph average)
The 39 mph average is deceiving because the engine clock still runs when parked and stopped.
My actual driving has probably been 70% hwy and 30% city.
I've put it in eco mode each time from the start.
Computer says 41.1 mpg
I'm going to try to keep track of how many miles I drive and gallons I put in over the next several months to check the computer.
Pretty stoked so far though!
Definitely better than the 33 EPA that was advertised!

That's good to hear. I'll check it for myself when mine is here.

Since Epa quote 37mpg I would be happy if I can get that. Anything more would of course be welcome. Slightly less would be great also.

Are you using 91 octane ?
The OP stated it was the tank from the dealer, I doubt the dealer used 91, BTW, using 91 wont help with gas mileage.

There would be no added benefit running 91 octane in a vehicle requiring 87. It would be wasting money paying the additional cost for 91 kinda defeating the reason for buying a hybrid in the 1st place.
I think I read somewhere that if you tow 91 Octane was recommended

WAY better than the 34 (per computer) I am getting. about 70% city too. I've also been VERY easy on it, and in eco mode 90% of the time. Brake coach always shows 90-100% recaptured, with 100% very common. I'm very disappointed.
