The majority of my driving is in town, stop and go stuff so the hybrid is a no-brainer. But 15% of my driving is highway, and speed limits here are 80 MPH. Yeah, eat your heart out east coast guys, LOL.

I'm very realistic about highway mileage, just curious if anyone has experience (yet) that they'd like to share. I'm thinking high 20's are going to be the norm.

I'm guessing you'll probably see right at about the 33 number. That's moving pretty fast so it will be working kind of hard. Still pretty great tho. Cruising at 70ish I'm sure you can easily get over 35

I've seen people say anywhere between 31-38 for similar speeds. Will still be better than the 17-19 I get currently.

I don't drive 80 since the speed limit in some areas are 65 and 75 in other areas. I usually let the cruise control take care of it. I was getting about 36 to 40mpg. With it on eco drive mode. Normal drive mode is roughly the same.

Can you comment is this mostly highway driving at 65 to 70mph?
Has your mileage changed with miles on truck?
My hybrid XL here in a few weeks and I do a 50 mile highway commute one way to work.

Thanks.

Here's my commute mileage. 17.5 miles in 18 minutes, 20 seconds. So just under a 60mph average that included red lights on and off the interstate, merging, neighborhood etc. and still nearly 55mpg's. Yes, you can even run All Electric above 60mph if you're going downhill. This Mav is amazing!!

I have had only one long highway trip that was 62 miles each way.

From Coppell TX to Winstar Casino I-35 Exit 1 in south Oklahoma and back again.

City driving from my home to I-35 and from Exit 1 to the Casino was about 7 miles so 55 miles were on I-35. 5 miles at 68 MPH, 10 miles at 73 MPH and the remaining 40 miles at 78 MPH.

Trip to Winstar (from higher to lower elevation) was 35 MPG and the return trip (from lower to higher elevation) was 33 MPG so the average was 34 MPG.

I've actually changed my path to work. I used google maps to find the most fuel efficient way to work. So instead of taking the highway to work. I now drive city roads. It isn't that much difference between the two paths. If I take the highway it is about 25 miles and as you see in the picture about 36 mpg. When I started to take the fuel efficient path to work. It is about 21 miles and I'll get about 50 mpg at the end of the trip. The big difference is the time it takes to drive. If I take the highway it is about a 30 minute drive. While the city path will take about 40 minutes. I let the gas tank get as low as I could safely get it before I refueled. I drove about 560 miles and I could have probably driven another 20 or 30 miles.

This was my latest trip, all highway except for about 35 miles. Speed was 75-85 mph (I didn’t realize Tyger was going so fast) 80% of the trip. I wasn’t expecting my mpg to be this good! Oh, I also ran AC for the last 3 hours.
