It's been working out great for me!
Any idea what's the best product to use on it to help protect from sun damage and keep it looking nice and black for a long time?
I'm with you, My complaints are minimal.
The biggest gripe is that it won't stay in ECO mode and always reverts to normal. 1000 miles in and despite the really cold weather (excess ICE use for heat) I'm still getting 35mpg- Hand calculated.
@codavis2 , @B_kiz Ford description also claims it can prevent a maverick from hitting a pedestrian. Has it ever beeped at you for that? I'd really like to experience how it works. I think experiencing it in action would make me feel much safer if my teen drivers ever use the Mav.
I have the ford copilot. Trying to figure out how precolission assost and AEB works. Is it something I've got to turn on, or an always on feature?
I'm curious how it functions. Any idea how i could test it out in a safe way (without risking damaging my truck?)
I've pulled up real close to...
He's only driven 120 miles so far. In 2 weeks. That means it's likely short trips. And he mentions it's SINGLE DIGIT COLD....which means the engine needs to warm up on every short trip.
You should be happy that you're even getting that much.....
Give it at least a full tank. Then hand-calculate...
It took me a couple weeks, but I finally managed to nearly empty my first tank of gas. Hand-calculated 34 mpg, mostly city-ish...suburban....driving. This was in spite of me forgetting to switch to ECO 90% of the time (Why can't the Mav stay in the last drive mode?), excessive running of the ICE...
Hybrid owner here. I'm only halfway through my first tank, but averaging around the 38-40mpg rate. It's been really cold in Chicagoland lately, so I think the additional ICE use to help with heat has been taking a slight toll on mileage. It looks like the warmer climate owners are getting better...
This recall really sucks. I hope those affected take advantage of the free rental car. It surprises me that Ford would even offer that, as it is a HUUUUGE expense, and since the vehicles weren't officially "purchased" yet....it might have given them enough legal loophole to skimp out. My Kia...
I bet this is exactly the case. OP should keep monitoring, but it should get better with the warm temps. I'd bet the ICE runs much more often to warm up the car during the winter.
Hybrid or Ecoboost? Quite a few Hybrid owners mentioning problems with remote start via FordPass. When I pick up mine next week, I think i'm gonna hold off using the remote start feature.......
If I was a bazillionaire, I'd love nothing more than to purchase a Shelby F-150 and drive the truck to the limit of it's capabilities. Nothing better than driving a big-ass truck. But as a Dad of three with one in college and two more approaching it, the Hybrid Mav is the closest I'm gonna get...
