This is great work and I plan to use FORScan when my ship Maverick comes in...

I have a couple of questions.
1. Do you use the ELM adapter that has the HS/HM switch (as in the video) or the OBDLink EX that FORScan recommends on their website? Any preference?
2. I see you are changing the actual "as built" codes instead of using the plain English version that is shown in several other videos. Is there a reason for this? Shouldn't either one write the changes?

I'm comfortable mucking around with firmware changes like this but I wouldn't do it without some sort of guide pointing to the items that interest me such as what you have here and your post about lane keeping and TSR.

Looking forward to making these mods!

Yes! Pretty please. I am all for modding vehicles but this intimidates me.
that said I’m going to order the parts needed. NEED that sport mode
Thought it would show up when I removed the FX4 stickers but no luck 🤣

1. I use this cable, it is one recommended by the forscan people
https://www.obdlink.com/products/obdlink-ex/

2. The plain English versions were never intended for Mavericks. If the codes overlap that is great but sometimes they cause other issues besides not enabling a function it is stated to do when they don't overlap. I prefer to keep away from them except when I know they will work correctly.

You don't need any parts to do this unless you consider the cable needed for forscan a part.

Next mod up is to go full FX4 functionality on an XL. I ordered the switch for Hill Descent Control. Once installed I just need to activate HDC functionality and the button with forscan.

Ford Maverick ForScan mod - enable all drive modes: eco, sport, mud and snow (confirmed working) 437844

Part # NZ6Z11500CA
Cost ~$73

Just did this in "easy" mode on my FX4. You have to disable the SDM-ABS as mentioned in the OP or you'll get a "drive-mode can't be selected" error even with the modes showing up. Sport mode did work during the test drive. Thanks for the work on this, OP.

You left ABS disabled then. Makes sense. Why did you disable Eco mode? Didn't want it or couldn't set it?

Just left it off, I'll never use it. It'll work if you want it though.
