Reading up on Forscan options I found that ALL models of the Maverick have this capability.

The "eye" (camera that detects oncoming cars for auto-dim) has other functions, including TSR. All Mavericks have this camera.

Using Forscan software and cable I enabled it easily. Here's how:

(I am surmising you know how to use Forscan. If you don't just Google or YouTube it. It's easy.)

1. Once connected choose the chip icon, then IPC Module Configuration (AS BUILT format). Find entry 720-03-02. Change the third character of the first octet to a letter C. [xxCx-xxxx]

2. Click "Write All" at the bottom of the screen and follow the screen prompts to turn ignition off/on.

3. Return to the "chip" button settings locate IPMA Module Configuration (AS BUILT format). Find 706-01-01 and change the third and fourth characters in the second octet as shown: [xxxx-xxD2-xxxxx]

4. Click "Write All" at the bottom of the screen and follow the screen prompts to turn ignition off/on.

5. On your dash display go to the "gears" icon indicating settings. Choose Driver Assistance, choose Traffic Sign Recognition and check Activate TSR.

THAT'S LITERALLY IT. You should now have working TSR indicating speed limit signs, no passing zones, etc.

I'm no expert on Forscan so I may not be able to help others troubleshoot much, but I'll try. I gained my knowledge by reading all of the (currently 18) pages of @Maverick2022XL 's thread here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...ition-tsr-forscan-mod-confirmed-working.9399/

Lots of discussion about Lariats and 6" screens so I weeded through it to find what works on the XL and XLT with the small screen. Following instructions there you can also activate other features regarding TSR.

Good luck and enjoy.
Looking at my iPhone app I see 2 Forscan apps one is free the other is $6.99 both are from the same programmer but one says viewer the other does not.

You need a Windows PC for programming.

So I guess this is stupid question but if a viewer will do the same thing as the one that costs $6.99 why would you pay for it.
They aren't able to do the same things. The free iOS viewer is only able to read DTCs. It can't reset DTCs or read datastream PIDs.

I may have missed this tidbit of info and it's been a couple years since Ive messed with FORScan. My OBD adapter has the medium speed and high speed can bus switch. Which setting should I be using to perform the TSR enable? Seems like I remember it would prompt you to switch the setting if need be but just wanted to verify. Thanks for all the info! Much appreciated.

Forscan will tell you. When it connects it walks you through putting the switch in both positions. Then when you click on a module it will tell you to flip it, if needed.

Does anyone know why Ford does not enable the feature from the factory for those models that have the supporting hardware?

I can only guess it's a "future feature" that will come in a technology or convenience package at an additional cost.

why didn’t Ford make this feature part of the system from the factory if it is capable?
i bet it is because they don’t feel it is working good enough to enable it from the factory. If there are too many bugs it can result in even more recalls. I noticed tonight that mine don’t pick up speed signs for curves

Anything in yellow is advisory only, not a speed restriction, so that makes sense.

In North Carolina where I passed those signs. They were red with a curve ahead symbol and a lower speed limit number below.
