The time has come.

I'm going to begin with a few photos of where my "new" truck is today, then I'll tell the story.

This will also serve as my ongoing build thread as I continue to modify and drive my Maverick.

You may or may not have seen my other build, a Cactus Gray '23 Hybrid here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...ets-lower-it-w-eibach-lowering-springs.25531/

Sadly, it ended abruptly May 19th when a lady in an oncoming lane turned left in front of me. She was cited, my truck was totalled.

Insert countless swear words here.

I sustained injuries to my ribs and lower back. Still getting treatment, still sore.

A great friend mentioned he was going to be trading his 1400 mile '23 Hybrid in on a new Bronco. I paid him what the dealership offered, flew to Florida and headed home to Utah.

Less than an hour into the trip I was rear ended. Yeah, seriously. Nicest gentleman you could ever hope to meet, but my NEW Maverick with less than 1500 miles took a hit.

The bumper was creased and scuffed, and smacked the bottom of the tailgate leaving scratches in the paint.

Insert more swear words.

The Highway Patrol came, filled out an accident report and I headed west again. The remainder of the 1800+ mile trip was largely uneventful, but man did I see some beautiful country!

I moved a few things from my totalled XL to this new Lariat like my @Realtruck F4X tonneau cover, the Bed Rug cargo mat, rear seat cover and a few other things. I had the windows tinted too.

But the BIG thing I was waiting for was the Silvers coilovers. I ordered shortly after I got this truck home and excitedly awaited delivery.

Color coordination is important. 😁

I tore right in and I can't begin to tell you what a QUALITY product Silvers makes! Wow! Excellent design and fabrication throughout!

If you've never done suspension work before I can imagine this could be a bit of a daunting task. There are no instructions but it's pretty self explanatory. Even with all of the suspension work I've done I got stuck on a silly thing and Silvers support was more than happy to help.

Y'all are going to ask the same question so let me answer it now - it rides nice. Firm, but nice. Not harsh, not hard, not bouncy, firm like a performance car which is exactly what a reputable coilover company SHOULD feel like. It actually rides similar to my HEMI Challenger with Super Track Pack.

It's a tradeoff that you may not be willing to make. My Eibachs on my Cactis Gray truck rode EXCELLENT, just like stock. They just weren't low enough for my liking and a compromise I was willing to make.

The ride quality is due largely to the work that Lawrence Giles put in with Silvers to nail down the correct spring rates! If you're considering Silvers ask for the "Lawrence Giles" @2016BoostedGreyGoose package. They'll know!

Also, this ISN'T the "low" package, it's the "standard" package. It's plenty low enough for me, although I need to start trimming my inner fender plastics because they rub.

I'm also going to go from my current 235/55R19's to 235/50R19's to minimize rubbing where I can. I may also go to 20's or 22's if I can find wheels I like more than the Escape wheels I had powder coated bronze. We'll see.

I still need to dial in the suspension a bit, maybe adjust ride height a touch, adjust dampening, etc. Once I'm happy with that I'll get the alignment done.

Here are a few photos of it lowered with the stock Lariat wheels.

Really glad I was able to save my Escape wheels from the Cactus Gray Maverick and that they weren't damaged. Really LOVING the bronze against the Hot Pepper Red.

Upcoming plans include moving some of my aftermarket stereo over and adapting it to the B&O, painting bumpers and side skirts Hot Pepper Red, adding fog lights and painting the grill bar.

More to come. 😊

Really glad your were able to get another Maverick right away. Also great that you’re able to recover some parts from your old Maverick too. Love the lowered look with the 21 inch Edge wheels! I’m looking around now for a similar set because I think 21s are the best option for a lowered Mav. I’ve got mine lowered on Eibach springs and the ride is just like you described. I’ve been really pleased with them, now I need to finish up with getting the wheels.

Coilover springs, nuthin! After reading your tale of road mishaps, you should consider a railroad cow catcher, race ready rollover cage, and an armed escort. Getting hit is bad enough, but seeing that first damage to your ride while it is still in the "pride and joy" mode.....heartbreaking!

I was thinking a rubber surround like a bumper car, LOL.

I am my own armed escort though. ♥

Curious where exactly you are rubbing?
Inner fender liners, but I have yet to pull a wheel. I'll post pics.

What better activity on this, the 4th of July, to spend the day doing business taxes? Celebrating independence while figuring out how much I owe the government. 🇺🇸

I'll dive into the truck after that.

Do much off-roading? Or driving over pot holes?
Yes, I take my hot rods and lowered trucks off road ALL the time. Living by Sand Hollow State Park requires every local citizen to navigate a level 9 trail in their daily driver. We're also required to dig potholes in our own driveways. But just in case I go to Moab I have a lifted Jeep on 37's. You know, just in case. 🙄

"I don't understand and I disagree so you suck!" God, I love the internet! 😁

The respect this dude exhibits when it comes to others is just criminal....in a VERY good way! Most know I'm very secluded when it comes to my upgrades and the testing I put into things to prove or disprove a theory, and don't share as much as I could because, well most are just takers. Most give nothing back, they spin it like it was their idea .... appreciate you Eric, the mention AND the build! She looks killer! Benchmarks being set! 😆

Would YOU take a Supra or a Corvette, or a Mustang off roading? We each buy things in this world that speak to us and with it a vision. Maybe you vision is tearing off roads or ground pounding potholes but it's not the same for everyone. If you don't like my comparisons or they are hard to comprehend, consider these... I know no one that has ever take a Ram SRT-10, GMC Cyclone/Typhoon off roading and regretted not doing so. These are street trucks, meant specifically for the streets. Feel free to share your Overlander Maverick. Nothing wrong with either, however being narrow minded is.
