Seems my AWD lariat is turning about 1600-1700 at 65. The key to great mpg is use that cruise control as much as possible, I use mine to speed up a slow down. I’ll bump it up a couple taps at a time. Example going from 45-55, I’ll tap it 2 times let it get to 47 then tap a couple times again to get to 49 and son if you do that rather than bump up all way to 55 or use foot so transmission doesn’t kick down to lower gear as often. Also when stopping start early by coasting a bit. And I don’t use eco mode as it seems to burn a little more gas than normal mode. Main thing is act like there’s an egg under the gas pedal. I have seen 42 mpg on an 60 mile trip and that’s with an AWD.
My mechanic said not to drive aggressively until engine breaks in. The piston rings need to set. I also asked him about best oil to use. Ford recommends synthetic blend & he agreed, but said after about 10,000 miles he'd switch to full synthetic.
I forgot to check the specifics, but here's a shot of my EB 4K on the highway today. This is with winter blend gasoline, too. The MPG should increase by about 10% when the warm weather formula hits the pumps. I love that it gets better mileage than my Subaru Forester did, while also having a LOT better performance.
