i am thinking about grabbing an ecoboost, my hybrid was ordered 10/21...think its still a good idea?
if you need a car while you wait for the hybrid and can get an ecoboost at mrsp right now why not. I basically got paid $1000 to drive the EB for 3 months and 5k miles. I would recommend get an XL or lightly optioned XLT if you want to do this. It seems like the lower trim/options have better resale margin.

I'd like to weigh in here. I've had my Mav for 2 months. I've found that idling absolutely kills the mpg as it corresponds to the dte. Having Fords since, forever.... I think this may be a glitch in Ford's software for the Maverick. I've never had one be so sensitive to a few min of idling. Also I've found better, more accurate results and Mpg closer to expectations when you reset all values when you fuel up.... btw, don't ever top off your Mav. The dte will actually be much less than average or expected.

I got about 9 mile per gallon towing a trailer into 45+ mph winds driving 70mph through wyoming back in December. 1500 mile haul was rough with those kind of winds most of the way from Texas to Montana.
I once got caught in a snowstorm on wonderful I-80 in our Tesla late March 2020. Not fun.

I think you're OK. Winter driving throws fuel economy for a loop. I was getting great fuel economy until the cold weather hit. All that idling warming it up, slipping and sliding around on the snow and ice, winter gas, etc. it all negatively affects it. This is my last tank, poorest fuel economy to date, in -20 to -30C temps real winter driving conditions. The 11.2 liters/100 kms average indicated, turned out to be 11.9 actual (hand calculated), 23.7 mpg Imperial, 19.8 mpg US.

yes they add a wax substance to the fuel in the winter time here in Canada and as you say throws your truck for a loop.

Im only getting 18-19 mpg (at 650mi.) and I'm light on the pedal. I'm hoping it's part break in and cold climate, otherwise I'm pretty disappointed

Agreed, if my mpg doesn't get a little higher next winter I'll be disappointed. I'm sure the summer will be better so that won't be a good indicator. I'm sitting around 22 now avg.

For what it is worth I have driven my 2.0 EB Maverick which is optioned with the FX4, towing, and 245/45R20 tires. Total distance driven has been 1618 miles. I live near 30 miles Southeast of Dallas, Texas which is quite flat. I drive 40% freeway and 60% rural roads which are relatively flat. I drive 5-10 MPH over the speed limit to prevent being rear ended. I have used three octane rated top tier only gasolines and all of the driving mode selections.
22.82 MPG average.
It could be the tires which are about .25" less diameter than the OE tires and the axle ratio is slightly lower than the non-optioned Maverick. I forget if the towing package or FX4 has the lower ratio, but I have them both.

Everyone's focused on the best MPG, so let's see what the opposite end of the spectrum shows... What's the worst MPG folks have gotten on 1 tank?
i averaged 8.5MPG over a 400mile streach. The conditions included a 3800lb enclosed trailer with 35-45 mph qoutering wind. hope it doesn’t happen again, but if it does I’ll capture with a photo.

11.1 L to 100km so about 21.1 but running leveling kit and 245 65 17 and new rims that did add to rational mass , lost about 1 L from stock .

With about 800 miles on the Odo i'm in between 25.5-27 mpg. That's with the digital readout. I haven't did it by hand yet. Those with bad mileage in the winter have you been letting the Mav run for a bit to warmup? That could have something to do with it.
