Using the basic cruise control on my XLT really helps me in getting good mileage. On my previous car (2009 Subaru Forester), the cruise control had the car downshifting on even small hills. It was detrimental to good mileage and comfortable driving, and a PITA in any traffic.

The Maverick's cruise control is a whole different animal. I find it extremely convenient and I use it a lot. I love being able to easily bump it up or down in one MPH increments to deal with traffic.

I've had lots of different cruise controls in my 45 years of owning cars, from my 1968 Chevy Camaro (327ci, two-speed Powerglide) to my little 2-liter, 8-speed 2022 Maverick. I like the Maverick's the best.

Cobb tuned with Stainlessworks downpipe and catback I just saw 27mpg average over 380 miles from Phx to Vegas mostly doing 85mph.
My around town average has bumped to 22 since the upgrades

Anyone have some real world MPG numbers on the 2.0 AWD option?
I have a 2023 EB Lariat wo 4k Towing option. Was getting in the mid to high 20’s consistently but since a couple of weeks ago it dropped to around 15-17 now. Not sure if it is the winter blend gasoline or what but would like to know the official outcome of this!! Thx. 👍

I’ve reset the meter a few times to give it a “fresh start”, but still get a consistent 14-17. Usually hovers around 15.5. It’s as if you can watch the gas gauge needle going down!
It goes in on Monday for a diagnostic check. I’m hoping there’s something wrong with it and easily fixable. I can’t imagine that mileage is normal. I will be sure to report back when/if I get some answers.
Be really interested on your outcome. Please post when out of dealer. đź‘Ť

2023 Lariat EB AWD 3.5K miles averages 26-27MPG is mixed driving. MPG picked up considerably after 2.5K miles. I attribute that to the engine and driveline getting broken in with reduced internal friction. I am very happy with the truck overall. For the price paid the truck is a bargain. There are a few features that would be nice but the Maverick cost $20k less than the Bronco we bought the same month. You get what you pay for.

i took my new truck 23 ecob XL awd tow pkg, for a run today, it only had 500kms on it when i left the house this morning. I did 420 kms, and just going by the dash it is reporting 7.5L/100 pretty happy with that. It was a pretty easy run though, mostly on cruise at 95/kmh and light traffic through Algonquin Park.

Filled up at sea level in the Bay area on Sunday, drove up to Lake Tahoe in the Sierras (over Donner pass/etc.) and when I parked at the lake (6120ft), I was at exactly 29.0 mpg for ~240 miles.

I know that going home, since it's mostly downhill ;) I can usually get closer to 39 average.

I’ve had my XL 2.0 AWD for a week now. I’ve driven about 300 miles. Averages around 16 mpg. The best I’ve gotten was just over 17 on a highway run. Right now the average is reading at just over 14. Worse mileage than the V6 F150 it replaced! Combine that with a 13 gallon tank and it sure isn’t suitable for any kind of road trip. I am so far very disappointed. The dealer I purchased it from says to put some more miles on it and maybe it will improve. I can’t imagine more miles will make any significant change. On Monday I’m taking it in (different dealer) to have them check it out. 14-17 is pretty abysmal for a truck this size.
Did dealer find any issues concerning the mileage you stated?

I am getting 33mpg on interstate, cruise set at 73mph. On 2 lane I use my foot to hold steady and with a trip in the country, I am seeing 34mpg, have gotten 35.3 mpg on a 3 hour trip

There’s so many variables that contribute to mpg. Altitude, fuel blend, driving habits, urban vs rural, speed, tire inflation, use of cruise control, cargo. That’s why manufacturers say your mileage may vary.

AWD Mav has a 16.8 gallon tank, but you are right 14-17 mpg is terrible something Is definitely wrong. I’m getting 33.3mpg out of my 22 AWD best full tank 606 miles was 37.6mpg and that was hand calculated. I’m using 87 octane E10 fuel and drive conservatively using cruise control highway speeds I generally stay around 60-65.
