92 in South West PA. Getting 29 MPG overall. 60% highway and backroad (fewer stop signs) driving. Hills everywhere though. I drive conservatively though. Getting maybe 1 or 2 MPG higher with the 92. I tow and haul enough that I don't want to switch between octanes. A trusted mechanic also warned me about frequent switching of octanes. He said that frequent switching is very harmful. Occasional isn't a problem, but changing every 2 or 3 tanks will be bad over the long haul.

Same here? That's amazing. I owned close to 40 different vehicles, and never got over window sticker for mpg???
I had a '15 Ecoboost focus. the 3 cylinder one. MPG was rated at 29/40. Over the 7 years I had it I averaged 41 overall. Drove from PA to mid Ohio and back once by myself and got 50 MPG (Cruse and speed limit whole way).

5K miles, FWD. My truck has consistently gone 500 +- 10 miles to empty. It takes 16.1 to 16.3 gallons to fill. I just go with 30.5 as the average. Use 87 octane and eco mode with usually a light foot to get up to speed. Eighty percent highway. Put in sport mode by mistake the other day and when I started to get up to speed, I panicked from the engine revving up and the red light/S on the display!! Thought something was wrong!! o_O:D

I just got my Maverick and have had to somewhat paradoxical mileage issues. My vehicle was sold to me with a full tank of fuel. I didn't ask what octane. I picked up the new Maverick in Iowa and drove it home to NY on a 1600-mile road trip adventure.

At the end of that first tank, I had averaged 32.5 MPG (all highway driving in IA and MO). I then filled up with 93 octane high-test. At the end of that tank (all highway driving in similar terrain and speed limits, MO and southern IL) my average decreased to 32.1 MPG. Tanked up with 87 octane on the next fill-up and mileage returned to 32.5 MPG (similar terrain/speed). Hmm...

The other mystery was when I got back to NJ/NY. I was averaging 32.3 MPG (all highway). I then had a hard tonneau cover installed. I had been under the impression that this would probably improve my mileage. The remainder of the trip, with the tonneau cover on the bed got me an average of 32.1 MPG; a .2 MPG reduction. It is possible that terrain had something to do with this as it was slightly hillier from the NJ/NY metro area to my home in the foothills of the Adirondacks.

Has anyone noted their fuel economy before and after installing a tonneau cover?

For what it's worth I just made a 350 round trip from my home (St. George, Utah) to Richfield, Utah. Speed limit is 80, cruise set to 82, drive mode set to "Slippery". Elevation changes from 3000' (home) to 8000'. Very mountainous terrain, but all highway. I averaged 26.8 MPH up and 27.1 return.

If I leave drive mode in slippery and drive cautiously I can eek out 27 in town. Driving "normally" I net about 23.5 in town.
