That is one thing I thought couldn’t be done, turn it back on. Thought it was a permanent disable.
So every time you start up, it defaults to off? Even in Normal mode? I pretty sure once you switch to Sport mode, Auto S/S gets disabled by the system anyway.
It's not permanent. You can go in with Forscan and change the same values back to what they were. The instructions also have you back up the modules before you start, so no matter what you do, if you forget what you did or screwed something up, you can set it back to the default settings.
Yes it defaults to off on every mode except for Eco. I'm guessing that's a primary feature of Eco so the only way you can disable Auto S/S in Eco is by removing Eco. And it's possible that Auto S/S is off in Sport mode by default. I added Sport and removed Auto S/S at the same time.

By permanent, I meant the button no longer turns it back on. You have to undo Forscan setting to get button to work.

I read up on all the threads and some seem to indicate some other items did not work for them, after doing the Forscan setting; like lane centering or collision assistance. Others didn’t seem to notice. Unfortunately, no clear evidence has to what is fully accurate.

I wish I could disable all modes except for Sport
Finally got around to unlocking sport mode (and eco) and the truck is proper now
I'm pretty sure this would work. I've added and removed individual modes. I've always had "normal" though, so I'm not sure what the default mode would be if there was only Sport. Hrm.

This is all fantastic news. I can basically buy an XL, get the steering buttons, knob and tailgate power lock and basically get the truck to XLT equipment minus the orange interior bits and white panels (which I don't like).... (I know it's a bit superficial, but I really dislike the XLT interior color schemes, XL is much nicer). There are a myriad of nice allow choices with the Escape/Bronco sharing the bolt pattern, so I don't have to sweat the steelies coming with the XL. I like the idea of adding all of those driving modes to an XL w/ Eco boost / awd.

Thanks for sharing all of this information folks.

You did something wrong and should go back to your backup and try again.

The mode select stuff has nothing to do with auto stop start.

OK, went out and found some ruts and deep snow. Both modes disable traction control and pure ev. Deep snow/sand allows for major wheelspin. The little green downhill truck icon came on in rut/mud mode going downhill in ruts but it seemed about the same level of “engine” braking as eco mode. Does this sound like what happens in the ecoboost awd?
Any update on how this is working? I was interested in doing it on my XL Hybrid since I put all-terrain tires on it.

It works OK, when FMC did the recall for overheating CAT, they wiped it off. Put it back in and it still works. Slippery mode is probably just as good for snow/ice.

soooooo, just fired up forscan for the first time, enabled the other drive modes (eco&sport) then ventured into the lighting section. I told the drls to be the parking lights and told thr low beams to not be DRLs and voila! I got my wish, drls are now my parking lights. side note, drls are NOT active in park, they activate once in drive, that may answer @bravesfan10c issue.
What are the codes for it? do you mind sharing?

After adding sport and eco to my FX4, I expected to drive mostly in eco mode. But I've been using sport 99% of the time, still averaging 23-24 mpg and getting 30-31 on the highway. Also I disabled the open door chime, driver's seat belt chime and auto start/stop. The latter is still enabled for eco mode, I guess because it's an integral part of that mode. In other words, you can't have eco mode without auto start/stop. The only time I drive without seatbelt is when I'm going slow off-road in the desert, also sometimes I like to open the door with engine running and not have warnings beeping every minute.
So you can confirm that using ForScan to add Eco and Sport modes to an FX4 actually does something? I.E. adding Eco mode does cause a noticeable change shifting, acceleration, auto stop/start, etc.? And adding Sport mode does give a noticeable boost to acceleration?

The thought entered my brain that adding modes might simply add a menu option that doesn't actually do anything. I saw a guy on Youtube use ForScan to add a heated seats button and a heated steering wheel button to his Sync touchscreen, even though his F-150 didn't have either feature, so the buttons obviously didn't do anything.

It actually does do something. It changes shift points, acceleration, deceleration and more. More aggressive in Sport and less aggressive in Eco than Normal mode.

Where can I find the codes to disable to the open door chimes?
