  1. My Steeda swaybar was absolute garbage and broke in half

Yep, good catch. The new bar does not have the welded stops and has the bolt-on shaft collars instead. This is obviously a defect that has been corrected in the new design. I'm not super impressed that they would make it sound like it's an unexpected failure if they already know the old bars may...
  2. My Steeda swaybar was absolute garbage and broke in half

Hey all, just an update on this. My replacement bar did arrive, with a shipping label to send back the broken bar. There was no significant feedback from Steeda when I tried to get more of a discussion going. I did ask for a credit instead of a replacement but it was declined. I already put the...
  3. My Steeda swaybar was absolute garbage and broke in half

Steeda indicated they would send me a new bar, but I have not seen a tracking number. I sent a followup email the day after to ask more questions about the failure and it was ignored. I sent another followup asking for a partial credit as this would definitely be cheaper than sending a new...
  4. Forscan Ideas for Dummies (Things You Can Do Using Easy Mode)

Nice, very cool. We are doing our first AGV/AMR project this year but our usual jam is integrated Fanuc robot cells. We definitely try to stay away from automotive world for the reasons you mentioned. Stayed pretty consistently busy out in General Industry.
  5. Forscan Ideas for Dummies (Things You Can Do Using Easy Mode)

In my personal experience it's above 95% accurate, but it's not bulletproof. There's a specific speed sign near my house that clearly says 60 and is always, always recognized as 70. It's not obscured by anything from the camera's perspective, uses the same font as the other signs, is clean and...
  6. My Steeda swaybar was absolute garbage and broke in half

Yeah, I haven't talked to a single person who has ever seen a swaybar break. It makes me wonder if this bar is even stiffer than stock when obviously the wall thickness is not sufficient. I have no way of testing spring rates on a swaybar but something like this really makes me doubt the product...
  7. My Steeda swaybar was absolute garbage and broke in half

Lol, wow. I wonder what the different Maverick aftermarket swaybar was that cracked in half? Hrmmm. I will edit my original post with an update from Steeda. They are sending me a replacement bar under warranty but didn't have much else to say. I asked if they can comment on this failure as I'm...
  8. My Steeda swaybar was absolute garbage and broke in half

I ordered the Steeda rear swaybar back when they came out and let it sit around for a while until installing in Oct 2022. Truck has not been autocrossed, rallycrossed, or even driven on gravel roads more than a couple times. The stiffness of the bar was set to "medium". After a few months the...
  9. Do they really make Mavericks 24/7? That's 8 Mavericks Every Hour..

Yeah, mean time before major component failure is 100,000hrs of active run time (not including idle time when powered up), which is a solid 10 years of 2 shifts. Industrial robots are great.
  10. BAP'ing Guide for DIY Black Appearance Package - Front Headlights Edition

Great post! This is the kind of content that makes these forums worth reading. I will say that the "new vehicle crowd" definitely brings out some interesting takes on car modifications. My personal perspective on the warranty is, ok so what? We are a community of people who can afford a BRAND...
  11. Recall reprogramming and ForScan mods

I just had a batch of recalls done including something to do with the brake controller. My drive mode additions were reset to factory settings.
  12. Replaced microphone, quality is better

A guy's wife on the internet says it sounds better
  13. Not as popular as we thought?

I think I've had 2 people kinda chase me down to talk about it a bit. But where it usually comes up the most is if I'm at a vehicle-related business and we get talking about it. I see around 3-6 mavericks on the road every week so the novelty has probably worn off.
  14. A.R.E. V-Series Bed Cap installed!

There are drips in the far corners which isn't very surprising. I haven't spent any time looking to see if there's a gap or whether I can improve it.
  15. A.R.E. V-Series Bed Cap installed!

Side benefit of the OTR coating...you can set stuff on it!
  16. A.R.E. V-Series Bed Cap installed!

Some more pics.... You can see the OTR texture better in the sunlight.
  17. A.R.E. V-Series Bed Cap installed!

Diode Dynamics SS5, driving beam, selective yellow lens w/ amber backlight. I made brackets for them that go through the grille and attach to the headlight mounting bolts. Pretty solid.
  18. A.R.E. V-Series Bed Cap installed!

The OTR is actually Line-X product, so it looks like bedliner. The biggest difference between OTR and paint-match is the surface finish...the OTR coating is rough and textured which gives it more of a matte appearance. I think it will also collect dust etc more. The quality is great in my...
  19. A.R.E. V-Series Bed Cap installed!

Yep, rails for crossbars and stuff. I think I may make a ladder rack that goes across the whole roof. Snow tires.
