Didn't you once live in Cypress, moved to Irvine? Now you're in Texas?Yeah, the shoulder warning, here in texas it looks like the highway department drove a dozer down the shoulder. It will wake you up. Great analogy.

I have just over 4kDad, glad to hear others know what we are discussing, mine didnt do it until lately, brand new it was perfect. Sorry to hear yours is doing it. I have 10000m.
How many miles you have on yours?
If my hunch is right, this could be serious, repair is engine removal?
Thx.
I live near Burnet. I have 5800 miles on my lariat FE and have not noticed those symptoms that I recall. I did notice some Regen improvements when I started to use econ mode at about 2500 miles and even more after 4500 miles when I started using the Low button which according to manual can be pressed at any speed so it apparently just uses different settings in the program. It vastly improves Regen braking. Maybe your symptoms are related to the Regen braking. If you have not used econ mode and low mode enter it when in standard or econ maybe the computer needs some input from those to improve it's Regen. Do not know but why not try. I would doubt it's the damper but would suspect something in the planetary gear selection if the ice is started at the time you are experiencing the symptoms. There were reports posted of several having to have some updates to their program if theirs was made before March if I remember right. I don't remember enough to search for it. Good luck, maybe see you around.Dad, damn, thats about when i noticed on mine was exhibiting the symptoms. You couldnt get anything out of dealer? Skinny was saying something about a code, i need to check into that more. Its too far along to live with, does it about 50% of the time i regen, which is every time i slow down.
I have lived in central texas since 69. I have been to cypress, irving, no residence, went to Galveston 75-79, came back to austin, live in Spicewod now, but wife and i cruise everywhere, all the time, Marble Falls, Johnson City, Frederickburg, Llano, Burnet, Kingsland, Blanco, RR, Georgetown, Buda.
I had my own diesel repair/modification business.
Do i know you? Or you know of me?
Do you notice it more on uphill vs downhill?Makin, I am in Burnet at least weekly. Nice place, eat at Mamas.
I could be wrong however, i believe its going to be fairly wide spread problem. Talked to several people now and more are noticing it, even had dealer look into it on some of them.
Mine did not have it till about 3-4000m, it was just noticed, then about 8000m its happening pretty regularly, now at 10000m its enough to get my attention, its happens 50% time on slowing down. Its getting more violent.
Have you seen any improvement in FE with ECO? I am getting pretty good driving on 281/71 as i can get 60-70mpg with 20m trip and about 8m electric. Still pulling down 700mpt using highway more.
If you want to meet up and talk/compare Mav and you can drive mine and see what i am talking bout. Skinny suggested loading it down and see if it slips and throw a code. I have only seen it while deacceleration but havent jumped on it hard enough to see if its slipping in forward.
Hello, Mikk! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this shudder concern. Thanks!I just took a long road trip. The shudder was happening as others say when I lift my foot off the gas and regen starts. I tried all different modes. No different. I did not have this problem till 4000 Miles. Now it's fairly often 50% of the time. And getting worse. Also I noticed the problem goes away when I turn the air conditioner off. So I think the load on the system is affecting this shudder in some way. ( but it's 90 degrees so I can't drive it around like that) I suspect the regen system has a programming issue. It might be weather related since I never noticed when the truck was cold in the Spring. I don't think this is a clutch or mechanical issue. To me this is a sensor issue with feedback to the computer causing some fight in the transmission/ trying to change gear ratios.. It's like a harmonic because it's always the same low frequency vibration.
Wow!!! How difficult was it to pull over ? Have they given you any estimates as to how long the repair will take?Just wanted to add my 2 cents. My Maverick XL Hybrid went down 10 days ago. They narrowed it down to the Flywheel and Dampener. Doing 80 mph passing a truck and there was a loud metal clank. The gasoline engine shut down immediately.
