The taillights on the Maverick are relatively large for such a small vehicle and the OEM bulbs are satisfactorily bright. Compare them to a Toyota SUV or sedan next time you're behind one. Teeny, tiny spots of light - no thanks. Worthless in fog.
I'm of the belief that the OEM taillights are visible from the side. Correct me if I'm wrong. As far as for the front, there are a couple of threads here that address doing a modification and if I can toot my own horn, here's a link to my modification that was easy and inexpensive.

I would suppose the Maverick is using its onboard computer to track mileage, so how far off could it be? Unless it's getting its info from a GPS tracking then there might be a discrepancy. I'm fine with using the truck's calculations. I already have enough issues going on without dwelling on...
