So you are saying that there was a warning sign that your noticed and fixed the problem before your wheel flew off?
Yes, But only because I turned a sharp 90 degree turn into a rutted two-track driveway and with with my window open I heard (and felt) something unusual. My son was with me and he heard nothing on the road also!
To finish the story - The wheels were so loose that I couldn't drive the car and I had to walk to a nearby house to borrow a lug wrench! I was amazed that I got NO Notice that the wheels were loose!
True story. If you don't believe me, try it yourself and see what happens.

I really want a Maverick, and I really need a vehicle - but with Ford being so incompetent, I might have to look for something else at this point. How they can move the date up and up, then suddenly go "oh, you know what, let's go ahead and move it back a month instead".
It seems Ford is missing a great opportunity here, I want but do not need to buy a Maverick and waiting a couple of years is a turn off. Rumor is Subaru is coming to market with a new Baja to compete in this market. If it comes available before I drop 34K on a Maverick, they may get my money.

Man, if Subaru had any decent hybrid that wasn't close to 40K - we'd be all over it.

We've mostly had Subaru as new vehicles for the last 10 years. I quite like the Forester Wilderness - but we are looking to get a second vehicle that offers a lot more fuel efficiency compared to our Ascent. The Mav is basically what I've wanted for years now. A fuel efficient "truck" that actually looks like a truck.

I currently have a 2015 Forester as my daily driver and love it, good space and 29-33 mpg depending on how I drive. I am a Ford lover and currently own a 65 2+2 fastback Mustang and a 2008 Shelby GT500 that I will be selling soon as I can no longer handle the heavy clutch with my back issues. I have been trying to buy a hybrid Maverick since first learning of them last year. I have a 72 El Camino I am restoring so I have a truck but it's built for speed, not mpg. My dealership and I have talked many times but in a small town they can hardly get any new cars on the lot and have never had a Maverick, I had to drive 50 minutes to Ruidoso Ford just to see an ecoboost and sit in it for a comfort test. The 4wd is just a bit tall for me but had to check it out as well as it was an XLT luxury pkg and had the upgraded sound system. I really like the Maverick and it will likely be my last new vehicle and of course, I want a Hybrid XLT Lariat fully loaded in area 51 so I am not asking for much. LOL. Take care and stay well.

According to the bulletin I read before leaving work today, it mentions no specific date for the order banks opening. However, they did offer an explanation for moving the date back as wanting to concentrate one building more 2022 orders before opening the banks for new orders -- fair enough and logical, let those who have been waiting have the chance to have theirs built. They also do indicate that when the banks open the Tremor package will also be available to order. This sort of makes me think many with '22 orders in the lurch will be hoping that theirs gets pushed back to '23.

The official Tremor release stated order banks for Maverick open in September. While not a hard date, it is at least a month officially stated...

And the salesman I chatted with this afternoon said the change didn't surprise him and wouldn't be surprised if they changed it again.

As it reads....

INFORMATION
23MY Maverick Order Bank Open Update

ACTION REQUESTED
Inform your teams of the change in Order Bank Open timing for the 2023 Maverick which was previously planned for August 2nd and will now be opening this September. We are moving the date of the 2023 order bank so that we can fulfill as many remaining unscheduled 2022 Maverick retail orders.

SUMMARY
In June, Ford Motor Company sent a communication to our Maverick customers with unscheduled and COVP approved retail orders regarding their options given the ongoing global supply chain constraints that continue to pose challenges with scheduling their orders. These options included removing constraining features from their 2022 Maverick retail order or choosing to place a 2023 Maverick retail order. We further communicated that those customers choosing to place a 2023 order would receive a special private offer at the time of order bank opening in August.

In order to fulfill more of these unscheduled 2022 retail orders we have decided to move our 2023 Maverick Order Bank Open date to September – a specific date will be provided as we get closer to September. We still intend to provide a private offer to customers with 2022 unscheduled and COVP approved retail orders that place a 2023 retail order, but will now do so when the 2023 order bank opens in September. It is important that existing unscheduled 2022 retail orders are not cancelled so that customers eligible for the 2023 private offer can be determined. The 2023 Maverick Transition Customer Satisfaction Private Offer will be communicated to our Ford Dealers ahead of the 2023 Maverick Order Bank Open. Production for the 2023 Maverick, including our All-New Tremor Off-Road Package, is still scheduled to begin this fall.

For now we will continue to schedule and build 2022 Mavericks from our existing list of COVP approved retail orders pending specific supply/commodity availability. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Nothing is official until after it has happened. This thread should teach you that! 😉

How come we can't order one from Amazon? Amazon ships anything, anywhere, in 2 day or less!

Wait...
loose lug nuts effects "2023 Maverick ordering now starts SEPTEMBER 15 (not August 2)" how?

That's the cause of the delay. Ford is having to spend time tightening all the lug nuts they forgot to tighten on the '22 MY. They only have one lug nutter to send around the country tightening nuts before they can start on the '23 MY.
