I imagine demand will go up since it's still the cheapest truck. Although "cheap" is relative when used ones on the dealer lots around here are selling for $39k. 🤣
It's possible they've been fixed, but the problem existed for a long time and I've never heard that the issue ever got resolved. It's the main reason Subaru wasn't even on my radar last time buying car for Mrs. Or this time around for myself looking.
Besides the engine issues they're very...
Yes, I had read several comments from people on here who said that moon roof only available on Lariat. I guess I read information from the wrong people. Oh well, all a bit moot now for me.
It let me put a moon roof on an XLT. I thought everyone on here was saying it's now Lariat only? Oh well, cancelling my order anyway, so not a big deal... But I probably would have requested a moon roof if I knew it was still available for XLT.
It's ironic that Ford want to punish dealers who misbehave and charge over MSRP but then put these crazy low allocations on dealers that have been known to sell at or below MSRP that get lots of orders because they do offer better prices.
I can understand allocations for "on the lot" vehicles...
No, when I first decided to buy they had already closed the order banks for '22. I'm new as '23 order with priority 19.... And a hybrid.... And dealer close to double their allocation.
There's no vin and probably never will be (the question itself is probably moot for that reason) I was 15 of 9 allocated.
It's a refundable deposit and they said when I placed it they had no issue with me cancelling if I decided to because they would just sell it anyway if it arrived...
Ahhh... Good points. I'll just get my deposit back then. Probably least risky move. Just hate that a dealership is going to turn around and stick $10k on it if it does arrive. 🤣
I'm a little South of you. It's not much yet. I think we'll get worse this evening. I'm at the top of a hill, so no risk of flooding, but bottom of my driveway already flooded a couple inches. Not unusual here. Bottom of drive a good 30' lower than the top though.
So, I would be willing to wait for my truck if I knew it would arrive some time in 2023, but I'm fairly sure it won't... So thinking I'm going to order a Civic Manual before dealers all run out of allocations for them too... I'll try again for a Mav in three or four years when my wife is...
Well, Car makers were saying that there wouldn't be enough people wanting a small truck until the Maverick came out and Ford can't keep up. I think VW would have sold much better than Santa Cruz, but ultimately perhaps not as well as the Maverick has. There's definitely a market for it. It...
I believe with the midgate it was a 6ft bed. It really all depends what you're putting back there. Dirt bike or large box like items, it wouldn't be as handy as a Maverick. For a kayak, skiis, 2x4s, it would be better than a Maverick.
As a kayaker/amateur DIYer the VW would have suited...
Reminder, this almost came to the US market and if rumors are to be believed, only reason it didn't is because Ford/VW were working on some other projects together and Ford asked VW not to release it here. I believe in other parts of the word Ford trucks will be rebadged and sold as VW.
And...
Lots of people do... But there is a market for manuals if someone would make them. It's like the civics. The few manuals they make sell out instantly and the cvts sit on the lot forever.
Every manufacturer has something similar. It's just like station wagons l, colors that aren't grey, and manual cars: can't get 'em in the US because some corporate types long ago decided people in America only want large soul-less SUVs with automatic transmissions.
It's like when Ford...
Anyone know if anyone sells a Maverick decal? Just in case I give up and decide I'm not ever going to receive my Maverick. It would be funny (to me at least) to take off the Civic decal (or whatever I end up getting) and putting a Maverick decal in it's place. 🤣
/ Not actually giving up yet...
I don't need a longer bed necessarily, but I don't need the super crew cab either. Same vehicle with an extended cab instead of a crew cab would be my ideal choice. I don't intend to use the rear seats often, but will occasionally use them.
Smaller vehicles are usually more fun to drive...
Yes, I remember that leak. Was thrilled to finally have something concrete about a new small truck coming to market. I saw that while regularly following the news for a VW concept that looked like a station wagon with a mid gate and a bed.
You essentially had a 6' bed on that with the back...
