The hybrid has a slight edge. The DC to DC converted is about 3Kw. Much more than most alternators. And the ICE cycles automatically as long as there is gasoline in the tank.
You are assuming we are installing the inverters just to power our houses. I have a 9000/7000w generator for that purpose. I will use the Maverick as a back up.
My main purpose for my installation was to have a portable 115VAC power source to work on projects where wired AC is not available...
In the hybrid, the 12v battery is always charged by the HVB through a DC to DC converter. The ICE doesn't have a 12v alternator.
The HVB is charged by the motor/generator running off the ICE and/or through regen braking from the other motor/generator.
You can connect your phone to the Maverick's screen with a USB cable or a wireless module such as a a Motorola MA1 Wireless Android Auto Car Adapter.
I have a MA1 in two of my vehicles with rarely a bug. The occasional bug is fixed with the customary unplug and plug it back in routine.
I have an old magazine with an article on the launch of the original Ranger. The article stated that Ford management told the designers that the little truck needed to carry 4x8 sheet goods to be considered by customers "a real truck". The Ranger relied on 2by's in pockets to raise the 4x8's...
So the dealer was successful in solving his problem (you with a low profit margin warranty repair). Instead of going out of his way to solve a customer's issue.
Will you be going back to this dealer for your next vehicle purchase?
I've have been diving standards all my life. (currently 69). I learned to drive on one. Right now my only standard is my motorcycle. I have never felt the need to "blip the throttle"
IMHO I find motorcycle riders riders who do it annoying.
Mine is working just fine as planned. I as stated I have tested it at 800W for an hour without any problems. I haven't done any long term testing. I haven't actually used it yet as it was set up for. emergencies or for when working away from power. Neither of which I have hade a need for...
The great thing about YouTube is anyone one can publish....the bad thing about YouTube is anyone can publish!
Just because "They" say something doesn't make it true.
Then again you have a choice. If you want to "change the oil at least every 3-5k miles and never let it go longer than 6...
Your 110v outlet does not run off the high voltage battery.
I runs off a 400w inverter which is connected to the 12v battery
If the 12v battery is dead so is the 110v outlet
You can jump start the vehicle with a 12 volt jumper box or other vehicle
