Yeah. That was a lie!
This am. I ran a Highway run test @ 70mph, @ 63F.
I hit the highway five minutes after disconnecting my Noco 1 - battery fully charged.
At start of the run (DRL's on) my power point Voltage "supplied" meter was holding the same 14.3V that it has been showing in Run Mode...
@Waterick,
Being in SC, I don't think your battery will die before December. I wouldn't charge the battery, I'd just use parking lights or headlights and watch to see if that helps in the long run.
If you were in Alaska/Canada I'd say wait for it to die!
I'll add that when you need to finally...
I don't need this at this time, but if I were a business owner of a trade vehicle this would be the first aftermarket option I would install!
Keeps the truck from becoming the family truck-ster.
I think that reflects the wintertime temperature difference between the Gulf Coast, and N.E. Wisconsin(Brrrrr).
My 15.4 reading's were during the dead of winter.
My daily morning ambient reading's now (60F deg.) at my power point voltage gauge are 12.4V before start-up, and 14.8V immediately...
@Hootbro,
Great information! I can try to repeat your "on maintainer" test when I recharge the battery at some point.
100% agreed on the thread and reasons for "steady as she goes".
I am simply not set up to test anything in depth, so I won't start a new thread either!
Please don't tell be about the fishing there. I don't think I could handle it! Actually the fishing in Wisconsin is pretty good, once you drill through the 36 inches of ice.
Please consider turning off OTA's until you have thoroughly tested and recorded data for each hack!
Then you will be able to accurately compare pre and post update results. It shouldn't take long to do that if you drive the maverick daily!
I also have sometimes spotty ATT cell service, but...
@Hootbro,
Did you get a chance to try any/all (except hitch brake light of course) of the inspired @Mavster Mechanic hacks before the trailer module update? Observations?
I received the update before I could do any meaningful testing.
Thanks, and welcome to the group!
Well that's a buzzkill!
I thought you had noticed a drop in your running voltage supplied to the 12V battery (15.1 - 14.8?) upon plugging in the hitch brake light?
Don't tell me I got that wrong too!
I honestly thought I had discovered the "Oak Island Mystery"! No cameo for me I guess, just...
Let us know if your highway mpg increases noticeably after the TMU update.
My 2025 hybrid's highway mpg appears to have increased after the update, but we also had a sudden and huge ambient temperature change in Wisconsin at the same time which makes comparisons questionable!
Thanks!
My post is just a theory to be be considered since I don't have the ability to investigate it myself.
As far as the parasitic drag I believe I am seeing, it is a huge parasitic drag, not the small milliamp drags associated with conventional electronic components.
The tow/haul mode idea is...
@HeyBales, Sorry for resurrecting this post from page 13 of this thread, but I have a theory that I would like to have you consider!
I don't have the tools, time or patience to pursue it, but you always seem game! 😁
My theory pertains to this statement of your's:
"Sorry if this is coming off...
Item #1 - Put your oem air filter back on the truck!
The Atkinson cycle hybrid engine is finely tuned for efficiency from the factory! Don't mess it up.
Item #2 - Start a separate thread asking why your MPG's are so low, and explaining what mileage your hybrid is currently obtaining.
If you are...
