I do have the noco maintainer and desulfated every month.... my AGM battery lasted only 10 months....
You can repeatedly attempt to desulfate a battery, but its lifespan will be limited. You can only do a successful reconditioning a few times before performance degrades permanently. Repeated desulfation can damage the battery by causing it to overcharge, overheat, or lose electrolyte, especially if the battery's internal components are already deteriorated. Soft sulfation (reversible) may be corrected, but hard sulfation (permanent) requires battery replacement.

Which extended warranty did u buy from Granger
the Ford Extended from Granger - Premium care/10 yr/100k miles/$100 ded, and I ponied up the extra $70 for headlamp replacement. Totaled about $2300. Should have gotten it when I first bought the truck 3 years ago - was only about $1300 back then.

Has anyone found that the battery was more susceptible to dying from a lot of short trips where the battery didn't get charged enough, or perhaps sat for long periods? Mine has given low charge msg. twice, when I was doing a lot of short tripping. Coincidence?
I may get a tender; is there any consensus which might be the best one or are they all more or less the same???
So it's actually not the same reason as traditional - where the ICE starting causes a big current drain - and then not driven enough to replenish.

All vehicles have a max time until everything goes to sleep now - Maverick is 75 min max.
So on each shutoff - things could be running up to that time causing more drain, than just normal sleep mode. So multiple stops make that worse.

For hybrid - Add to that during the powered On state - it adjusts the supplied current according to it's sad little algorithm, lowering as time goes on, just like a normal charger.
Haven't seen anyone report if the EB does similar, or starts back at high level.

So if the BMS was planning on doing say a topping charge of decent 6-2 amps for say 30 min - but you only did a 10 min drive, with a short stop - it picks up pretty much where it left off.

Or like my 1st drive today at 62% SOC (Ford's scale) and before start 11.9 V - within the 15 min to work, it was down to 1.5 amp charging level.
If I turned off for 10 min errand, and on startup - it's starting at that 1.5, maybe 2 A level.
Would soon be down to floating charge 0.5 A level.
Can anyone say "losing!"

A battery is a wear item but it certainly does not wear out in one year. In my experience, living in Canada, a battery should last 5 to 6 years under normal conditions. (I've never had one not last that long over the past 30 years). I just ignore all the deep sleep warning messages that my 23 maverick hybrid and my 22 mustang gt give me and they both start fine. I agree with the others, $900 for a 12v battery is criminal, I would call it theft. Seek a new dealer.

FYI, For the hybrid only, the 12v powers the electronics, which then signal the high-voltage battery to start the internal combustion engine via the starter/generator motor. If the 12V battery is dead, the vehicle will not start, but I can't imagine that it takes much power to connect a couple of switches compared to powering the actual starter motor.

Why buy a vehicle you have to plug in every night to a chord? Bottom line the deep sleep/dead battery issues makes the Mav hybrid a lemon. Four times at dealer and no fix. This time they had it for 11 days and waiting for Ford hotline to come up with a new possible fix! Ford also paid for at least a dozen jumps and two tows. Why put out a vehicle with all new crazy electronics and not have it proof tested before? Horrible engineering.
I haven't experienced any of the issues. Not all Mavericks are lemons.

I have a 2024 Maverick Hybrid with 47,000 miles. It keeps going into deep sleep mode. Brought to the dealer today. They said I need a new battery so it will be about $900. Told it is not covered under warranty. I thought the hybrid batteries were covered up to 100,000 miles.
The cost of the hybrid battery is somewhere in the price range of $6k to $8k. The dealer is trying to reap you off. The 12v battery under the rear seat should not cost more than $200. You can get that done yourself or go to AutoZone and they’ll install it for free as long as you the battery from them.

they won't install this one for free as they have to remove the back seat and spend some time and effort removing the old and installing the new.

They don’t have to remove the seat to get to the 12v battery. You lift the seat, and remove the plastic cover and the battery is right there. I’d argue that getting to it is just as easy as getting to a battery that was placed under the hood.

Until they break a clip and cover doesn't stay down well and rattles.
Or they attempt without removing it (you don't have to), but drop a bolt or holder.

My Rav4 was an automatic no - and I didn't even ask if they would, I had asked if I could in the lot, to just return the old battery right there.
He misunderstood, saw it under the cowling requiring extra plugs removed with cowling, and said no. They only did normal location.

Understandable really.
Since I'm sure they originally attempted years ago and people complained or sued when things did go wrong.

Clearly you don’t own a hybrid Maverick because of you did, you wouldn’t be making this statement.

Clearly I do - hence commenting you don't have to remove anything under the seat actually.
Just an extension and magnet.

And I can easily see an auto-response being no for a free install - because it easily looks like more would have to be done - and the places doing free installs have stopped doing anything that involves removing too much, or they think it does.

I understand removing the battery clamp nut isn't the problem, but reinstalling it is.

When the time comes and it will.
I don't know if I will remove the plastic surround or order a 10 mm magnetic socket. I would think it's harder to get the clamp in the proper position with the plastic surround on.

My Brother in law bought a 2019 escape. The battery in it is 2/3 the way under the cowling and you cannot even see the negative post.🤔
