Can you do it in an FX4? Most likely, but it is not optimal for beach going.
The FX4 has open differentials without a center locking differential to make the FX4 lock in AWD mode with a 50/50 split on power.
So the FX4 is a front wheel drive biased AWD system with open diffs.
The Tremor PTU...
I highly doubt it, but it could be possible as they are built at Hermosillo.
I see a lot of pre-production test mules from Honda and Acura (live about 15 minutes from their plant and R&D facility) and I have seen quite a few domestic test mules from the Big 3 when driving up north.
They have...
They've been on the lots for 5 weeks now. I have one coming in a few weeks. Lariat.
Mind you none of them arriving yet have the 2.7L which isn't available for order yet.
I think we can say Maverick has probably eaten into all midsize truck sales. It has taken a huge chunk of the segment.
I also do not get the Tacoma loyalty but I also feel like until the newest Frontier and Colorado/Canyon redesign nothing was doing much to move people away from Toyota.
That is where we disagree. I don't think many Toyota buyers are going to cross shop Ranger but a lot of Ford buyers (loyalists) will cross-shop Ranger v. Maverick.
Folks out there driving Rangers when they've never towed anything realize they should be in a Maverick.
Ford's play is clear. The Ranger can do more truck things. The Maverick can be more efficient.
I think Ford is seeing that the middle bowl of porridge just isn't enticing to buyers. They will go Maverick or F-150. Unlikely to go Ranger.
Why would you do that? It isn't a diesel - being up 4500-5000rpm is where you would realize any type of compression braking on the 2.0 Singer.
Overall though - L is not very effective.
While I agree with you on Ranger sales to date (leftover Euros plus the plant shutdown) they have been woefully under ordered and Ford has successfully cannibalized Ranger sales with the Maverick.
It is why you see that they are desperately trying (2025 refresh with standard big tech screen) to...
Not really. After I ordered the Tremor it arrived in 4 months.
Semantics aside though - I drove my Tremor for 9 months and 8,500 miles and the fine folks at CarMax gave me $3,200 more than what I paid for it.
The local Honda dealership is a CarMax wholesaler so they honor the CarMax trade in...
If your truck is perfectly reliable and you are enjoying it? Keep driving it.
I traded my Maverick for financial reasons but beyond a strict maintenance schedule I wasn't going to worry at all about the issues brought up in these forums.
I traded down to a 2024 Civic with the 1.5L DI turbo...
Just always fear leaving an air bubble in the line. Not knowing how/having the confidence to flush the lines and bleed them is a major weak spot for me.
As many others have pointed out - do you feel (grinding, rubbing, warping) or hear (squealing, squeaking) that would indicate the brakes need service?
The only brake maintenance I would pay for is flushing the brake lines. Otherwise brakes are easily serviceable.
The hybrid did not enable OP to do this. His inverter and 12v battery did. The 12v runs the inverter the HV powers the 12v.
The hybrid might give another 750wh of capacity (although probably far less with conversion losses) but the hybrid itself did not do this for OP.
I also wouldn't run any...
You plugged it into an inverter that simply tapped your 12v battery - it did not touch your high voltage hybrid battery at all.
Sorry to burst your hybrid bubble. That was just good old fashioned vehicle technology you tapped into.
