New Battery Replacement Question

Hi Maverick Fans,

I'm considering replacing the problematic OE battery in my '22 Maverick 2.0 due to recurring sleep mode issues, just from sitting overnight. While I haven’t had any starting problems yet, I don’t want to wait until that happens.

I know there’s a recall, but with parts still unavailable, I’m looking to be proactive. Before swapping it out, I’d like to verify the proper battery settings in ForScan to ensure a smooth transition. My Maverick currently has an EFB battery, not AGM, but I’m thinking of upgrading to a high end Optima AGM or similar.

If anyone has experience with this or can point me in the right direction for checking battery settings in ForScan, I’d greatly appreciate your input!

Optima definitely makes the best battery and competitors chose not to copy them due to the high cost of manufacturing.

I don't need an Optima, I'm going to wait for the free Motorcraft AGM and then 4-5+ years from now when it's gone, I'll re-evaluate.

That's interesting.

I wasn't specific enough in my previous reply, btw.

Optima yellow and red top AGM batteries are the best AGM batteries because they have six spiral wound AGM cores that you can easily see in the unique battery case. There actually could be competitors doing this also, I suppose.

BCM already set to AGM so no Forscan necessary but make sure you properly reset BCM is doing a battery change.
