This is simply a data point to consider. I won’t know the efficiency of my AWD Hybrid 4K tow until closer to 5k miles after I’ve tracked it in Feuly.

wish it would have done a smidge better but oh well.
Updated post #35
I just sent an email to the Fast Lane Trucks, asking how many miles were on the odometer when they conducted the fuel economy test.
I hope they answer.

If hyper-miling and driving to optimize the electric miles as much as possible, I believe the Maverick could have destroyed their previous record for 100-mile efficiency.
certainly, but it wouldn't even take that.

all it would take is milder weather. their hybrid, in January, in Denver Colorado, surely used the ICE a lot to keep the heater going.

if they repeat that test when it's 50 or warmer, I bet it's a lot different result.

Isn't the FWD 2025 Maverick Hybrid rated at 33 highway? How would an AWD version be rated at a higher highway rating of 34???? Is my math not mathing?

at around 11:41 or so when they messing with the touchscreen you can see they are doing 74mph. Id love to know if they were consistently driving that in the truck 8yrs before... or if they can remember how fast they were driving during then... ie were they trying for a economy run to get great gas mileage, or driving like a normal driver would...

I wondered the same. Here's the graphic they showed. That seems strange. You'd think the AWD added weight would make it less mpg???
Does AWD some how make the drive system more efficient????

But if they were driving less than 63 then that portion would be city miles. Plus it takes at least 3 full tanks to get an adequate estimate.

because of the refreshed front portion fascia (that everyone hates) and dampers.

dampers? I'm curious of your reasoning there.

fascia is definitely possible. hell, deleting the grille & headlight crossbar alone probably reduced drag.

base model tires haven't changed and I doubt they tested with a Lariat on the new 19s.

New video drop from TFL on Hybrid AWD efficiency.

TFL really bringing the content when nobody else is.

How many miles are on the truck? you might get better MPG after the engine gets broken in a bit and in warmer temperatures

Here are my real world results of my 2025 awd hybrid I live just down the road from where they purchased their Maverick in Colorado. I did drive mostly in eco mode and drove with the ev coach majority of the time. This was my first tank results. I drove on the highway a few times at 75mph to 80mphfor about 50 miles and around the city mostly around 40mph

Trip computer is around 5%-7% high FWIW

Only real way to tell is do a bunch of driving over 1000, 5000, 10000 miles etc and track on Fuelly. That way the fill up factor is mitigated as well.

I get 33-37 mpg highway in my hybrid, depending on time of year (ie winter gas has less energy) and speed (70 mph vs 75 mph).

I will be looking forward to how well the hybrid does with 4K towing. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure they keep to the posted speed limit as they go around the loop as best they can.

At only 185 miles if I drive like grand ma going to church i hit 26 mpg, hauling azz down the highway in these hills in at or below freezing on winter gas I am averaging 22 mpg. But I let mine Idle for fifteen minutes to get things warmed up. Not concerned at all. I am confident I'll average 26 or better when things get broken in and warmer air returns. I won't buy a hybrid until I cannot afford the gasoline I burn now. That should not ever come to pass. I only do approximately 15,000 miles a year at most.
