I think the general conclusion we can gather from the 2025 hybrid awd slip test vs the Bronco's slip test is:

If you want to go off-road, get a trim designed for it (Tremor). The Maverick AWD Hybrid is not, and was never intended to be an off-road vehicle.
I will say what I have said before- The AWD/Turbo/FX4 with AT tires is PLENTY capable Off/road and that comes with the ability to tow 4k for those that optioned that - If they come out with a FX/4 type AWD/Hybrid Maverick that would be cool but seems like Ford really wants that AWD/Hybrid to keep the shiny side up and remain on pavement at all times -

thanks all, interesting discussion.
Also this has cured my FOMO about getting an AWD Maverick.. bought my 24 in 23, did not know there was an AWD on the schedule and got annoyed when I heard about it, would probably have delayed to get the AWD. But it's quite a lot more expensive and from this discussion, I'm not sure it is that much better anyway.

my old RWD Sport Trac with an open diff, went down and back up all the bad roads I needed it to, going fishing/hunting/canoeing. It did need chains sometimes, but never got stuck as long as I had the chains. Once I managed to get one rear wheel off the ground on a truly bad road, and that immobilized me. Ten friends in the back and five more pushing got me out that day.

Next summer I'll try the Maverick out in the mountains and see, expect it to be perfectly fine. Ground clearance is 8.3" where the old truck was 8.5", not significant.

the FWD Maverick is infinitely better in the snow and ice than my old RWD, it's a real pleasure..
