Stop/Start, SUCKS! It's a problem looking for a place to happen. Like at a stoplight. Also, wears on starter and battery. ''SUGGESTION'' FORD, GET RID OF THAT SHIT, and THE IDIOT ENGINEER THAT CAME UP WITH SUCH A STUPID IDEA! It will save a considerable amount in manufacturing cost and increase profits.

gotta agree: lunacy.

saving gas? horseshit! if gas was 100 bux a gallon it still wouldn't be worth the waste. a big gulp of gasoline to start a dead engine--and the worst emissions on startup! it's not just robbing peter to pay paul: it's stupid

I have had my 2024 close to a year now. It is an XLT with luxury and black package. I really like and enjoy the truck. But as with most vehicles there always seems to be one item that bugs the heck out of you.
My one item: I can't believe Ford didn't put power windows with one-touch up. Ughh! Every time I go to a drive-through I curse that I have to hold the button while driving off. My 2013 CRV had one touch up and down. That is my one gripe.

What is your one pet peeve about the truck that you would change if possible? Just mention one please. :)
My biggest pet peeve about my Maverick is that it didn’t come with the Lariat package. It’s really annoying that it doesn’t have heated seats, heated steering wheel, B&O stereo, co-pilot 360, keyless entry, push to start, power seats, power sliding rear window or ONE TOUCH UP/DOWN POWER WINDOWS.

If you wanted the Lariat package, you had to order it. It doesn't just happen.

The stereo of my XLT. As much as I didn’t want the Lariat, having the upgraded Sync system would have likely been a blessing. My stereo frequently has issues, this week it froze entirely and the only button that worked was the play/pause for 30 straight minutes. I also had a situation this week where it didn’t make it past the ford emblem. It’s a mess.

A couple of annoyances:

My biggest pet peeve is the clunky transmission tuning... really concerns me for the longevity.

The road noise. It is deafening (especially with the all terrain tires). The soft tonneau makes a wild noise for the backseat passengers too, and anything that shifts forward in the bed makes a huge noise for the cabin.

Scratchable plastics make the truck look more beat up than most cars I've owned.
You need to remember that the back wall of the bed is the back wall of the cab. Tie stuff down, or you will be bending the back wall of the box into your cabin space. Could damage equipment mounted on the cab wall of your cab.

It's mostly groceries that have caused this... the cantaloupe escaped during braking and the noise it made was wild!

Nope, just one button one setting. I have 2023 XLT lux pkg
It comes on pretty strong, I guess to warm it up fast, and once it reaches a comfortable level, it does settle down and keep it at a comfortable temperature. You can always turn it off when it gets the chill out.

I think they got the idea from hybrids, which pretty much run off of battery while at a light or stop sign. The difference is those can start moving under electric motor while the engine starts up, and regular cars can't, which makes it a lot less seamless and a lot more annoying.

Bottom line, good idea for hybrids, bad idea for pure ICE setups.

Bottom line, auto manufacturers these days have to come up with creative ways to meet CAFE standards, or be fined. There's a balance in keeping the customer and CAFE satisfied at the same time.

Heated steering wheel gets too hot.

Thinking of getting a cover just for that.
My heated steering wheel also gets a little too hot before cycling off. I bought a stretchable cover to put over. It helps to temper the heat a little bit.

Is there a low med high on heated wheel setting?
It does cycle on and off.
From what I've read previously the temperature can be modified with a ForScan unit.
