My Maverick replaced a 2010 Ranger XLT. The Maverick rides and handles much better than the Ranger. It also gets much better gas mileage even with the Ecoboost engine. Just using the EPA ratings, the Ranger was 19 city, 24 highway. The Maverick is 23 city, and 30 highway. That's about a 19 percent improvement in mileage! It is really better than that, since the Maverick is averaging between 29 and 30 mpg, which equals a 37 percent improvement. It is also nice to have a back seat with extra storage under the seat.

The MAV, gets twice the MPG.
Carries 3x the people, (it was anymore the One, and the rest would have to ride in the back. (which is illegal in most states).
And the "Standards" (Power this and that) would have been XLTs or higher in the Rangers..

Trading in our 2010 Honda Ridgeline tomorrow for a 2024 Maverick Lariat 2.0T with the 4K tow package in Cactus Grey. We built it to order and have been waiting for a few months now.

It hurt that in that time they finally announced the 2025 models with hybrid + AWD and 4K tow capability but IMO the 2025 model is pretty ugly and loses a lot of its charm with that botched facelift, the paint colours are universally worse as well, including the interior (esp lariat - black or "smoked truffle"), the HVAC is hidden in the touchscreen with no physical buttons (seriously what year is this? we have a decade of concrete data on why this is bad now) and aside from that there are no refreshes to any of the interior ergonomics or safety or any other noteworthy chassis fixes.

Combine that with the MPG savings and modern creature comforts compared to our Ridgeline and I'm hoping that we won't regret not waiting for the hybrid AWD model and will be happy with the Maverick for another 10-15 years.

I owned a victory red 2000 Xtreme from
new until 2004! I actually loved that truck. When I built my maverick, it was a nod to the Xtreme I used to own. I recently traded the Maverick for a new f150. Not because I really hated it, but my circumstances dictated that I make a move. Love that s10!

Ours actually replaced a Jeep Cherokee KL. The XLT was a little bit of a step down in interior accommodations, but that thing had a black interior that got hot REAL easy. Plus fuel economy was horrible and we were using it to try and haul stock for our store, but the enclosed cargo area was very limiting. The Maverick has been so much better for what we needed. Better enough that, now that I no longer need my 50 MPG Kia Niro for commuting anymore, we're going to trade it in for a second (2025) Maverick. AWD Lariat this time.

I was driving a 2017 Silverado LT Double Cab and I still have it. The Maverick Isn't as roomy or comfortable, but it handles much better and the gas mileage is great.

2017 Tacoma. Absolutely basic, and a dog on the interstate.

What did you drive before the maverick? I replaced a 2016 f250 supercab long bed gas. Just wondering how diversified the maverick community is. Because the maverick can play alot of roles in the automotive world. I see people get out of Priuses , trucks, suvs, minivans. I bought mine because I needed a daily that could haul a boat ,camper small stuff. Superduty was nice when towing the stuff I have didn't even know it was there. But I first a Formost I needed a daily driver for a 60 mile round trip. My Maverick has filled that slot perfectly. What's your story?

2012 Fusion SEL V6, 93K, loaded w/navigation, moon and tune package (moonroof and Sony sound system), leather heated seats, blind spot monitors, rain sensing wipers, backup camera (it was only an option in 2012), backup sensors and cross traffic alert. I added strut tower brace, rear sway bar, cross drilled rotors with carbon ceramic pads, cold air kit, and throttle controller. It was a fast, fun, quirky ride. This truck had some big shoes to fill.

Any regrets? Nope - I love the amenities of the Lariat, ride quality, looks, power and utility. The only things I miss are the rain sensing wipers (which could be majorly quirky) and the Sony - one of the best rear view mirror rattling factory sound systems I’ve ever heard.

Awesome. I always liked The fusions. Wanted a 2.7 ecoboost but bought an SHO instead.(wife did). maverick can easily fill those Fusion shoes. Couple mods. It already has the hp. A few bolt ons and some sticky tars and still tow a trailer. 👍
