My true car before the maverick was my 2011 taurus. Bulky but powerful and comfortable. The one thing i hated was how big it felt. The front sloped off and the rear was huge and short. So it felt like it extended forever and i never liked parking it.
Some jackwagon rear ended me and killed it though. It did its job and protected me to its end.

I temporarily got a fusion between the taurus and the maverick. Pretty base model but had one feature i avoided on the mav.

The freakin lane nanny and warning system.

That thing would run into a panic every stupid time somebody made a right turn. [Beebeebeebeep!] Yea i know... guy turned. Thanks.

I didnt hate the blindspot warning but the maverick has the fisheye mirrors so i like that fine.

Maverick is my first brand new vehicle. Last vehicle was a 2006 Frontier Nismo. It was more truck than I needed but was almost bulletproof for many years. Almost 200k and didn’t burn a drop of oil. Almost 100% original parts and it was entering the maintenance hell stage where 17 years of Texas heat was taking its toll on anything plastic or rubber. It’s was just time. No regrets so far after a year and a half with the Maverick.

I will miss the dependable and reliable 2008 Toyota Tundra. Gave it to my son as he needed it for his job. Had about 110K on it, and only had 2 recalls. Takata passenger airbag inflator and they chopped off about 1/4 inch from gas pedal as they said it could get tangled in floor mat. 16 years and no software issues, no nothing. Just get in it and drive to China if they ever finish a bridge! (little joke there). Wife has a 2015 4Runner. Bulletproof. Has had yet the same airbag (is every airbag made in the WORLD a Takata?) Again no other problems. I absolutely love my 2023 XLT Hybrid, Lux, co-pilot, 360. Pulls great behind my motorhome, which could definitely NOT do with my Tundra. Like that! I would not at this time go any farther than maybe 150 miles on at trip out of town until they can figure out why the trucks are stopping in the middle of the road, dead. I am due to get the recalls done middle of this month, although I have never had a problem yet. I may, at that time try a longer trip. Hard to compete with reliable and dependable though. I have read where last couple years Toyota is having some pains. They usually work them out very quickly and efficiently. We shall see.

My last vehicles, Maverick replaced both, were a 2005 GMC Canyon, and a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. I no longer needed the truck, but now and then could use something for small jobs. What I miss that the Sonata had was homelink, and warning buzzer if someones in you blind spot when changing lanes. It's hard to see the light in the passanger mirror with someone blocking your view by leaning foward or having something in there hands. Also not fond of the CP360 not having sensers on the front of the truck like it has on other Ford models. I have a Lariat with all the options, therefore they should have these features.

My previous vehicle was a 99 Cadillac Deville, the list of things hated about it are too long to list, mostly focused on how hard it was to keep running.

I loved my 12 year old Audi A7 :). I hated that my wife totaled it . Being retired from my business career, it made no sense to own another pricey sedan. My retirement hobbies include woodworking, gardening and camping. The Maverick is a perfect replacement.

My previous vehicle which I still own is a 2002 Silverado 2500HD. What I loved about it was that is was still a simple vehicle in terms of modern mechanicals and technology. I'm pretty good at fixing things and was able to do all the maintenance and repairs on that truck short of replacing the rear main seal. It's has just under 300k miles on its gas V8, so pretty reliable and very easy to maintain.

That's my biggest concern with my Maverick hybrid. I'm not looking forward to paying someone else to repair it! LOL

Previous ride was a 2012 Genesis Sedan. I miss the quality and the feeling of being in a ‘machine’. I like the Maverick, but is definitely a step or two down in a lot of areas.

2010 Tundra. No issues at all. Am getting old and no need to haul stuff and parking was a pain. Maverick is perfect, hauls Diy materials, easy to park and wayyyy better gas mileage.

Loved them both. But time & needs change. I’ll be 81 soon, Mustang was getting a bit harder to enter/exit, & F150 was getting bigger in the local parking lots. Mustang had 201A pkg, & F150 was a Lariat, so interiors were miles ahead of the Maverick. Just no longer needed a full size truck.
But, the Maverick just fits my needs now & I really like the was it drives + my fuel costs have plummeted, thank you Hybrid.
if I can just find the “rattle”in the passenger side headliner. Found a couple of YT videos on dropping headliner. If I can’t figure that out will try dealer (only had it 3 months). Guess I could order a 25 if we cannot find the rattle.

I replaced a Frontier that a dump truck could turn tighter. Also, if I attempted to depress the accelerator it made a lot of noise, but didn't accelerate. Old guy-crappy truck=dangerous combo.

I miss the dependability of my Frontier. I have had more issues with a Ford in a few months than I did the whole time I owned that truck. Think I have the kinks out, but obviously QC is pretty abysmal. You should not have to get a new truck fixed just to make it new.

I now worry about the longevity of the Mav. I am a 10yrs + car owner usually, and so far I highly doubt I will get there without a major issue. Time will tell, but my gut tells me this is my first and last Ford. My time means much more to me than saving a little money. Cars are tools to me and I expect them to perform. They are not a hobby.

Ford had better make these solid before a real compeitior comes out or they will get left in the dust.

I had a 2016 (first year 2.5l turbo) Mazda cx-9 because we needed more space hauling all our crap to the lake and vacations. I test drove the awd version and hated it. it torque steered and spun the front tires, then finally decided to engage the rear. such a stark contrast from 3 other awd vehicles I'd owned - 99 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS, 03 Evo 8, 09 A4 avant.

I "solved" it by getting a fwd model figuring I was saving money skipping the junk awd. 🤣 I hated driving in the rain or snow, tons of wheelspin, but never got stuck.

the Maverick awd works very well.

I drove a 2009 VW Jetta TDI SportWagen.

I loved the diesel engine. Good low end TQ. I loved the wagon cargo area. I loved how nimble it was.

I did not like:
-The perpetual sunroof leaks causing wet floors and mold
-The hesitation when accelerating from a stop
-The DPF exhaust setup
-The Dual Mass Flywheel and its reliability
-The use of a timing belt instead of a chain
-The utter mess of socket types used for maintenance
-The cost of maintenance
