Ford told me $17,500 for my 2020 Corolla, but I just filled out carvana’s online quote system — they offered $21,200. My truck is being built end of Feb so I have some time. Anyone ever used Carvana? They just bring you a check?

Sold my 2014 Corolla to Carvana for $15K in January. Super easy. The part that took the longest was the guy who showed up to pick up the car wanted to see my Maverick. We spent 15 minutes talking about it, and 5 minutes signing the paperwork.

2004 f150 supercab (10 mpg city ) with 128 k was sold 2 years ago for $7500 . became one car + motorcycle family . did not miss the added maintenance or additional car insurance for 2 years . no longer needed a large tow vehicle . was looking for light tow vehicle since when learned about the maverick in June \21 . saw one at dealership and sat in . liked it and started hunting for one in sept /21 . found the one I bought in late October/21 . great vehicle so far . will probably sell other car in near future .

One thing to consider is the tax break you get from a trade in to the dealer as opposed to selling third party. If trade in value for your current vehicle is $15k then you'd have to sell it for about $1000 more third party to come out even.

The dealer online quote was $9-10K on the car that Carvana gave me $15K for. Didn't even bother bringing it to them.

Most dealerships are offering insulting low ball offers that even with the sales tax savings are still thousands lower than selling to Carvana, Vroom, CarMax etc.

Example:

Selling my 2015 Honda Fit Ex with 43,800 miles on it:

AutoNation Honda in Lewisville TX only offered $12,500, no sales tax saving because this was not the dealership where I was purchasing my Maverick

AutoNation Ford Frisco TX only offered $11,750, sales tax saving of $734.38 or total value of $12484.38

Both of these total values were over four thousand less than just outright selling to Carvana

Carvana's offer was $16,523 or $4038.62 better than trading in.

The dealer offered $8900 for my 13’ Prius. I sold it in 3 days on Facebook Marketplace for $15K. The instant offer from Carmax was $13400.

Just adding the Maverick to my other cars. The Maverick will be my daily commuter. Everything else turned into a project... I always modify everything until it's not a daily anymore. Haha.
