oddly enough, when i 1st got my 2019 Nissan Rogue i though the "motion activated tailgate" was something i would never use. Turned out to be one of my favorite features and i would love for my Maverick to have that feature (and maybe incorporate the tonneau cover). Besides that i love my Mavericks 360 Camera...how did i ever live without one?

I know what you mean. When your hands are full and you want to open that tailgate, waving your foot underneath is nice.
In the same situation with hands full.
With the installation of a DeeZee strut on your Maverick tailgate.
You pull the handle on your tailgate and the strut allows the tailgate to gently drop open.
Cheap well used upgrade.
Specially useful when your hands are full.

My 2023 Mav replaced a 2005 Ford Escape
The problem with 2000-2007 model Escapes it that they are prone to rust out in the wheel wells.

I liked that my Prius C was very cheap to own and operate, and got me to work every day without fail. I bought it after taking a pay cut to change careers and that was fortunate to see me through a couple lean years, then the insanity of ~2020-2024. It held it's value pretty well too and was easy to sell. Pretty much everything else was a negative though (noisy, uncomfortable, borderline scary on the interstate).

Still feel there would be a huge market for a compact hybrid though. The system in the Maverick is every bit as good as Toyota's, and in some ways better (liquid cooled battery, more powerful electric motors than the older Toyota synergy drives). Really too bad Ford doesn't still make the Fiesta for the US market because a little hatchback that is fun to drive /w hybrid fuel economy is the most practical car in the world (just not what people want to buy).

I had 2013 Jeep Patriot, traded it in last week at 102k miles before having any serious problems develop.

For the time decent milage, put in a new head unit to get android auto (uconnect was not pleasant). 4wd (upstate NY winters and being someone that can be called in at 3am before the plows have really cleared the lake effect snow, having AWD/4WD is a must)
The thing I hated the most was it was too narrow. If I wanted to pick up a couple sheets of plywood, I had to strap them to the roof rack, couldn't even angle them to fit in the trunk.
(this was something I had not considered when buying it used).

Bought a 2025 XLT lux AWD. It's an upgrade in almost every conceivable way. Better gas milage, better cargo capacity, heated steering wheel is really nice, the android auto experience is better, ford pass app is great, etc
Really looking forward to doing some more light truck stuff (renting a pickup or utility trailer for a day really proved to be enough friction to hold me back from taking on some basic side projects like building more shelves kinds of things unless they were necessary). This new truck has opened up a lot of possibilities.

While we wait for our 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid to be built, I will miss some of the features of my 2023 RAM 1500 such as the cornering lights, the puddle lights, the tailgate downlight, and all the cubbies. We also liked the eTorque engine with smooth stop and start which is one reason we went with the Maverick Hybrid. However, I will NOT miss the rear parking assist that continually slammed on the brakes when leaving our driveway (which I permanently turned off) and we are looking forward to parking a smaller truck and getting things in and out of the box without climbing into it.

Really enjoyed our 98 Taco, but it was getting up in years and my wife was getting tired of having to put a lot of pressure on the brakes to get it to stop. The door handles were getting hard to open and the interior opener finally broke. And a sensor has gone out making it hard to start--just have not gotten around to putting it on yet. Probably will need a new radiator soon--about a 100 dollars and a couple of hours to slap in. Really could use a little body work and a paint job.

Sold my 2022 Tacoma TRD Off Road with 33,000mi. in Jan. and 3 days later bought a 2026 xlt Maverick. I liked the Tacoma, had good power, great creature comforts, did well off road and I liked the blue crush color, the 19 mpg avg sucked and anytime spent at or above 70 mph the mpg suffered more so that made it terrible for trips. Have 1200 mi. so far on the Maverick and the trip that has not been reset is setting at 35.2 so Im happy with that.

I came from a 2016 fusion hybrid. Only thing i regretted about that car is no AWD. We live on a private dirt road that i grade once a year - it was getting old dealing with deep snow.

Maverick hybrid feels about the same, drivetrain wise as the fusion, but now i got a bigger "trunk" and awd!
