I've been using the engine block heater on my 2.5 Hybrid engine to get a head start on the warming cycle in the mornings. Hopefully starting off "warm" helps to reduce engine wear.
Vehicle is in the garage and I get the heater going for roughly 1.5 hrs ahead of departure. 1/4 mile down the...
5K miles on my '24 Hybrid XL. 8.6 miles each way to work. I see the vanilla sludge in my cap. I have been using the engine block heater during the week last fall and this winter. The heater is on for about 1.5 hours in the morning before l leave (it is on a timer). Truck is always in the...
I wanted to add one of those little charging blocks that have the 12 V cigarette lighter plug as well as a couple of USB charging ports. I didn’t want to cut up the factory panel so I used a piece of material that is used for machine guarding. It is thin aluminum on two sides with a plastic...
Mine came with the engine block heater. My Maverick stays in a garage at night and I have been experimenting with the heater to see how much it helps out on a cool morning (8.5 miles to work on city streets). The manual says that 3 hours is the time to achieve max temp and over that time is...
Gah! Well the good old forum search gave me nothing, and I debated even posting the question as I usually get the standard "Dude this has been answered a hundred times! Try searching next time!"
D'oh! Anyway - thanks for the enlightenment. 😛 Looks like the EXACT info I was looking for!
Does anyone have a cooling system schematic for the Hybrid engine? The engineer in me wants to see the layout of hoses, pumps, valves, coolers, etc. for the engine and charging / battery systems.
Yeah - not a fan of the rotary selector. Needs to have a lock / detent that requires additional action to move to R or P. Made that mistake a few times in the first week of ownership.
I was at 640 miles on my first tank (from the dealer - assuming they topped it off). The dash showed about 74 miles to E and I decided to go ahead and just fill it up. Stopped right at 13.0 gallons, so I could have probably hit the 700 mark but would have been on fumes.
Got the hook mounts back from being anodized. On the contact surfaces I attached some Teflon tape so the mounts would slide smoothly over the rail. Next step is to take a couple of old stainless brackets and modify them into tie-down hooks.
