No, they stay on permanently.

Thanks I want to reduce that time. Now I just got to be brave enough to use Forescan. I have plugged it into my F150 and just looked around. Still a bit scared to change anything.

One thing to keep note of here is that this is a switched power source we're dealing with, that means it's using a relay.

A standard single-pole double throw (SPDT) or even a single-pole single throw (SPST) relay utilize about 150mA of current to stay actuated. If you're turning this setting on to be permanently on, that relay is now staying locked open, constantly sucking 150mA of current from the battery, whether you have anything plugged into the outlets or not. If you were to leave the truck parked for a day or two, it will for sure kill the battery. I've seen it happen a lot when relays on remote starts don't get installed correctly and stay on.

True, but based on what I've seen in AllData it's just a normal relay. I'll have to double check when I'm back in but at least according to the electrical diagram it's just a standard SPST relay.

Still, it's not like doing this will hurt the vehicle, just may kill the battery or cause the relay to possibly burn out faster.

What would be really nice is if the relay were serviceable, then you could pop out the relay and use a couple of spade connectors to jump the pins, bypassing the need of the relay and giving a true constant power socket.

I've disabled the the timeout and run into the same issue where the 12v (cab and truck bed pigtails) turn off as soon as I turn off the truck and open the door.

Has anyone looked to see if there is a way to make the 12v system (especially the pigtails) become energized for a while after you unlock the truck that is not running?

I have a question that I have asked half a dozen times on various threads involving using forscan and have yet received an answer. I'm hoping you can end that streak.

Forscan is a computer programming code - free to download and is specifically for a Windows platform.

I wasn't expressing my frustration with your thread. I had asked several other OP and posters the same and never got an answer. Sorry if that wasn't made clear to you.
