For the namesake, I think the timing worked out well with the Top Gun Maverick release. I personally am within the targeted age bracket you mention, but nothing else. I didn't want a eco or urban-friendly truck, I just wanted a cheap little daily driver with a bed to throw tools and stuff in, although the fuel economy is a big bonusMany of the reviews and articles I read said Ford picked the name Maverick not as a nod to the old car but to the target customer demographic. They were targeting the 25 to 35 young environmentally conscious urban or suburban dwellers.
With the exception of a few, almost all Maverick drivers I see in my area are probably 50s and older
