Funny I was JUST wondering what the demographics of Maverick buyers and came to the forums to post a thread asking this very question then I saw this poll.

Ford's marketing seems like it's targeting younger buyers. But where I live almost every Maverick I've seen was driven by men over 40 and many well over 50. You know the type: the guy who owns 15 rental properties and is a millionaire but still wears the same Levi's he's had since 1992 :ROFLMAO:
Not that Ford cares as long as they're selling like hotcakes.

When I was at the dealership putting my order in there were a few customers picking up their Maverick's. All middle aged or older frugal looking men. At 43 now and quite frugal I too am in that category haha.

It would be curious to see how many Maverick buyers are financing their purchase vs paying cash compared to other models. I bet Maverick buyers have a higher cash purchase rate vs other models based on lower overall cost of vehicle and the old frugal man demographic
Yeah that is literally my profile lol. 42. Extremely frugal, current car is a 30 year old Volvo wagon I've been driving since I was 15! Parents deeded it to me in 2003, and have been taking care of it ever since.

Paid cash, it was only about 28k out the door including tax/title/fees for a '23 XLT.

A nice car doesn't make me more money, and once I got to the point where I could buy almost anything I wanted save for some crazy exotic multi-million dollar car, I suddenly didn't want it anymore.

The combo of price point, utility, size, efficiency (hybrid), and simplicity won me over. A lot of DIY'ers are buying these and learning to fix them themselves, I'm really hoping that that part of market takes off in the future. I DIY everything on my current car, including a transmission swap years ago.

BTW the last pair of jeans I bought I got one pair for free and the other for $25. After about a decade, I finally am about to retire them :D

The only thing I wish were different would be a body-on-frame design to help with repairability, but I do understand the ride quality is much improved with the unibody construction.

According to the numbers I just saw, almost exactly one third of the orders are from folks 60+.
That's telling me there was a market for an affordable small truck for the age group.
And the market jumped on the product.
What that also tell me is that the other auto makers missed the market that Ford stumbled upon.
Ford makes a little money from this age group at the same time they are beefing up their CAFE numbers.
Win, win.

I prefer to be called a cheap middle aged Bast🤬! I'll wear the frugality badge with honor! Tip my hat to anyone who has means but live / work like they don't. Injecting a little stability into an unstable world.

We'd get a long well I think haha. I've never financed a car and I abhor debt. My current car (still waiting for my Maverick) I paid cash for 10 years ago. That was my first new car purchase, and I was originally looking for a used one but they offered me a great deal on a new one so I bit the bullet. Before this car I drove a '98 Dodge Neon I paid $1000 for. Drove that for 7 or 8 years. Before that it was my '91 Ford Ranger that I bought as my first vehicle, and of course paid cash. I will be paying cash for my Maverick.

My current pairs of jeans are Amazon Basics brand that didn't fit my father so he gave them to me. Score!

Seems like the unspoken marketing behind the Maverick, whether it was intended or not is...

"A sensible truck for sensible people ... who just want to get it done!" That option is becoming less common sadly.

I envision a commercial that starts out underplayed showing boring middle aged people talking about being sensible (no truck). Then cut to some action shots of skiing, farming, camping, etc (with truck). Then the group standing outside near vehicles saying "who just wanna get 🤬 done!"

😂

Sorry Buzzard, we got you beat — 89 years young and cannot wait to get our Maverick. Hope you enjoy yours as much we will enjoy ours. Yahoo!
Hello Bingo are you still around on the forum? I've done searches on this thread and I think you are still the oldest reporting, but I'd like to say my Dads Maverick is finally here and he was 87 couple months ago. I think this makes him 2nd oldest, but I think it makes he and I the oldest Father/Son pair :) Both Hybrids. Showing Dad how to use Carplay so he can listen to his XM channels.... Stay young, stay mobile !

Remembers when Scion brand launched in early 2000's with a "young hipster" vibe and marketing focus. A few years later Toyota found out the majority of buyers were older and less hip. Killed the vibe LOL. As it turned out middle-aged and retirement aged buyers actually like well built, affordable and simple cars. Who would have thought.
You don't lose the "hip" when its harder to "hop"

Hi all! Let's see what age group is gonna buy the Maverick the most!
I realize you haven't been online for almost a year. Possibly you've sold your Maverick or just lost interest in the forum. but Thank you for starting this real poll.

Ok, the great thing about the Maverick is that it spans multiple generations. I’m not necessarily a Lobo fan but I appreciate how you trick your trucks. I add and make a few mods here and there but pretty much keep it stock. Keep it up though. I love the energy.
