The latest division changes later boomers, after '55 and before '65, into "Generation Jones". (Google it.) Basically too young to attend Woodstock, but a bit old to grow up with ubiquitous computers or cell phones. Totally makes sense to me - I was born in '62 and never had anything in common with older boomers; felt more like a Gen X (but not quite). Our stereotypical toy was the OG Hot Wheels (Spectraflame paint, red line wheels!) and Schwinn Stingrays. OTOH kids a few years older were identified by Davy Crockett coonskin caps.
I know what you mean, I was born in '57 but really identify more with Hot Wheels and Schwinn Stingrays. I missed out on the free love generation...unfortunately 😁 My brother was born in '47 and he is more Davey Crockett and the Happy Days generation. By the time I graduated HS Viet Nam was over thankfully.

This is a sample size of the forum not necessarily representing of Maverick owners. This forum tends to be heavily skewed towards retirees whereas the subreddit is probably 30 years younger.
Though it could also be, "How old do you have to be before you've got the disposable income/savings to buy a Maverick"

Reddit does tend Millennial heavy though, and they never get the point that the structure of the platform is highly likely to boost popular delusions/misconceptions at the expense of "doesn't sound as good and not what you'd like to hear but happens to be true."

Yep. Too young to get sent to Vietnam, but still grew up with Walter Cronkite and body counts on the nightly news in grade school, followed closely by Watergate. (On a more positive note, the moon landing too. Tang and Space Sticks which IIRC looked like a moldy Slim Jim but tasted sort of like peanut butter?)

I wonder how skewed it would be if we had a few more of the over 5,000 guests as members?

I forgot all about space sticks. Wasn’t there a chocolate flavored one too.

I never worried about fitting in with a generation label.
I wouldn't say I cared about fitting in. Only that people see my age and automatically assume I must be like X because I'm in a specific generation. More annoying than anything since I really don't feel I fit in any of them.

Most of the guests are likely AI bots scanning the forum. That’s normal from what forum admins have told me.

I was born in 1966. Here is why the Maverick appealed to me.

My first vehicle was a Mazda SE5 (1984-85). Back then, this was considered a small truck vs standard or full size. It was sporty and fun to drive. Over the years I have witnessed trucks increase in size to the point where a small truck is now as big as the former full size and full is now a behemoth.

Back in March of this year, after driving full sized pickups for so many years, I decided I was just tired of driving a full sized pickup. I started looking for something smaller. The "mid" sized options available didn't seem to scratch the itch.

I came across the Maverick while comparing a Ranger and Colorado. I went to a local dealer and looked at the Maverick. This is what I was looking for. It's the small, sporty, fun to drive truck I had as a young adult.

Thoughts after reading this thread.

1. I agree the results should be expected to skew older here in this forum compared to social media sites. Especially Reddit.

2. Many men choose full sized trucks because of the "macho" image, but more older retired guys are past that and likely to prioritize affordability and practicality.

3. Generational gatekeeping is silly.

From my experience elsewhere the web crawlers/"spiders" are usually 50-100 but the AI craze may have upped that a little. With over 120k Mavericks sold this year alone, 5k people browsing the most popular website isn't a stretch.

The Admin of one forum I’m on, far smaller than this one, told me they were getting up to 10k AI scrapes per day, 5k is nothing.

65 year old female here! Love my truck. I worked in the heavy utility Construction industry until retiring. I knew I needed a truck but I wanted good gas mileage and something that wasn’t huge. Maverick was recommended by Teamsters that I worked with.
Here you go Tracy.
