Received vehicle : March 2022
7300 miles when vehicle did not start back up.
Dropped off at dealership 9/06/22 at 7am and asked to speak to service manager and told him about wiring harness issue and needed a loaner/rental for work. Manager said he didn't have any loaner/rental to give. (Sure he didn't) later around 2pm same day, service tech called to provide a rental because of wire harness issue. Part expected Friday but we'll see about that. Rental was an explorer XLT with 400 miles on ODO so it must have been on the lot Plenty of room for 5 month old baby so that's a plus.
Avg 17.7 mpg though. Otherwise the truck is a great vehicle if not for this issue

They fixed the faulty connector in approx. 3 to 4 hours while we waited. While other dealers made excuses, did not return phone calls, were generally rude and simply did not care, Billy Howell Ford was impressive and got the job done.
Their service department and service director are first class, 5 star, all the way!
Please see the attached pic showing repair. Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to see exactly where this connection is in the engine compartment. I Will try and update later where the exact location is.
This fix makes the most sense since it has not been confirmed if harnesses are still being manufactured the same way with the same problem.

Curious about something, having read all these posts for months now: Has anyone who has had the dealer fix this by either replacing the harness or fixing the connector had it REOCCUR? I'm basically wondering how SOLID this fix is, or if it's just a bandaid covering up some larger issue.
Last, its under control, its usually 1 connection on the harness, usually in 1 of 2 places.
And we are trying to give the best advice on how to repair it CORRECTLY.
I and most others are not going to run scared and sell.
I myself, which have not had any symptoms, i am going to tear mine apart and at least inspect. But i will be ready to repair it correctly, at that time, soon.
The way i see it is, its a possible problem which could create a break down, so why not go in and cut it off and get rid of a possible problem(then we can all sleep safety).
Now the one that bothers me is the driveline shudder.

Chris, location? We are seeing/hearing that the majority 12v cable lug that is defective is in one of 2 places, the 1 under the hood under black plastic cover, to left of fuse block.
The other possible connection, which we think occurs most often in directly behind the.first, towards the firewall, its connnected to the 12v buss.
These pics are such, taken on top of fuse box, left side, down towards ground, the cable visible is the cable next to fuse box, other pic is of cable right behind to rear of Mav, these are the 2 possible cables that account for 98% of the 12v battery cable failures.

Second pic shows cable running back towards firewall, under black plastic cover that has arrow pointing towards left, this is the most common point of failure. Right under that cover is the failure cable lug. It is aluminum cable so the replacement lug has to be copper clad.

I think my truck has succumbed to this issue. Am I good to just jump start it every time I need to drive? Dealer claims they can’t even look at it til late next week.
