Everyone has their preferences I find the sliding rear window useful.

This sounds very very useful but also very risky, lol. Great ideal though.Must have feature IMO. Have it on mine and every truck I've ever had since the 1970's which is quite a few. Awesome flow thru ventilation and you don't get that wind buffeting noise like you get with rear windows opened. I've carried lots of trim size lumber, pvc pipe, 1x2 lumber etc but I keep several of those Styrofoam shipping pieces like large screen tv's are enclosed in inside the cardboard box. Lay it on top of tri-fold bed cover so the material doesn't contact the frame or glass, a few towels folded up to protect dash etc and strap it down at the end of the bed.
I also have one of the extenders that connects to the trailer hitch which i use for heavy objects which I will not put thru the window
How long is that sailboat? Do you think you could have strap it down and not use the bed extender? It looks like the tailgate edge past beyond the half way point of the boat. This cheap Bed Extender is one I use and is more than enough to do the job with my SUP and Sailboat Dinghy.
Also on the Rear window, I've been tossing around the idea of ordering one of these https://breezerwindows.com/

it's 14ft long. How long is that sailboat? Do you think you could have strap it down and not use the bed extender? It looks like the tailgate edge past beyond the half way point of the boat.
Exactly, and it works great for that. Much better than hanging out the side window or 5 feet out the bed!I was hoping I had ordered it 2 weeks ago when I had to bring back 10 feet piece of MDF baseboard! It would have been nice to push it into the cabin through the window.
Not ordering it, don’t want to look at it through the center mirror and I can haul 16’ lumber with my load extender attached to the hitch. Easy !I didn't order it... I couldn't really think of a purpose to have it (for me!)
i have used these for kayaks and for plywood. They work well.I'm thinking of a hitch-mounted bed extender for long loads.
About $100.
Anyone have good or bad experience with one of these?![]()
My two reasons too.... combo sunroof/rear slider for hot day heat evacuation.. and dogs peak out when in the cabin... or peak in when riding in the bed... well, don't have the maverick yet, (2 more weeks) but those were the reasons for ordering sunroof/rear slider (well rear slider is std w/ Lariat and not available for XL/XLT in mY2024)...More useful for ventilating the truck on hot days - coupled with the moonroof being popped up it knocks a good 15-20 degrees off of the interior temperature when it's sunny out.
As a safe place for letting the dog stick their noses out, it's priceless.
Hey it is kind of small. I though it would be a bit bigger but seeing how they did it, a larger opening window would be more complicated and expensive. And it does serve the most basic purposes. One thing I like about it's size is that it's too small for someone to crawl in and open the car, so you can leave it wide open and not worry about security. My two reasons too.... combo sunroof/rear slider for hot day heat evacuation.. and dogs peak out when in the cabin... or peak in when riding in the bed... well, don't have the maverick yet, (2 more weeks) but those were the reasons for ordering sunroof/rear slider (well rear slider is std w/ Lariat and not available for XL/XLT in mY2024)...
