I would suggest replacing the mirror with a dash cam one. They show the rear camera instead of the mirror and it will give you much better view plus a dash cam.
Except when the tailgate is down for hauling all of the plywood.

Don't get me wrong, sounds like a good idea, but I do find it annoying that the camera does that.

Seen a few with a camera in the third brake light.

Gotta call it a cargo cam though.
I don't think it's legally a reversing camera since it could miss a small child behind your tailgate. But should suffice for general purpose when your tailgate is down.

Anybody annoyed at how dark the smoked glass is on the sliding rear window? It makes it difficult to see things with the rear view mirror. I often have to open the rear window to get a clear view of things behind me. Also has anyone else noticed the dash console lights reflect directly off that rear window and into the rear view mirror (making it look like lights behind the vehicle at night)?
No.

It was only odd the first 2 or 3 days.
Totally 100% used to it now.

Does this fit a Maverick?

now that you bring up the subject. The bright Yellow Light that shows passenger side airbag is OFF (circled in pic, it lights up yellow) does reflect in the sliding back window. now i can't unsee it again, maybe will stick some electrical tape over it.
