I'm on the flip side, being positive adding the tonneau cover helped my average mileage at speeds over 40-ish mph. May coincidence since the drivetrain main still have been breaking in, but I'm convinced it helped.
I have a Synetic retracting cover installed, however a hard rollup should work...
Hybrid Lariat with no regrets thus far after just about a year, as I purchased her on 04/30/23. I'm more lower speeds, with occasional weekend getaways or road trips, which may increase once my eBike arrives, and we settle on how to transport both of them. - Wife's Crosstrek doesn't have a...
Start/Stop doesn't turn on unless the engine reaches a minimum operating temperature, and even then there's a list of parameters (non-hybrid), which include battery state of charge, mode (tow/haul will deactivate it), something plugged into the trailer hitch connector, you're not pressing the...
I keep a permanent plug kit and small dual piston compressor in the truck, just like when I had my Outback. But then I also have a socket sets, jumper box, medical kit, emergency blankets, 12v Extension Cable, Wheel Chocks, Flash Light, and Work Light, just to name a few of the items. - Oh...
Although valid concerns, consider the following:
Supposedly, the axle failures were due to specific batches of axles from the supplier. Current axles being installed in production or as replacements have also now been revised.
The engine failure/fire is less than 1% of the 2.5l production...
True enough, however the H5 has a larger reserve capacity, enough that I haven't seen mine state of charge drop below the 80% since installing, even after sitting for 7-8 days unused with the Ford Pass app connection active. Bonus is the Weize is low cost, but seems to be a rather hearty and...
One quirk is washing the truck with the proximity key on you is the doors will lock & unlock with not only the wash mitt, but the spray of water. I've learned remove the key from my pocket and lay out of range (or leave it inside the house) when washing & detailing. I then use the keypad...
Enjoy mine every time I need to move something I'd have fretted shoving into the back of my Outback. Every have a bag of mulch rip open pulling it out of finished interior, it isn't fun getting it out of all the crevices, cloth/carpet, and everywhere else it goes. - Not to mention the Maverick...
I am so not having any recalls performed until they figure this one out. I now have 3 they're trying to schedule, one for the taillights, emissions, and of course the one dealing with the potential fire should the engine expire. I'll just listen for knocking or odd sounds, I'd noticed them. I...
Thankfully, I decided to add that option and the very next week was scheduled for production last year. Used it a couple of times this past winter, and nicely had warm seats and steering wheel when hopping into the truck after clearing off the snow/ice.
So glad I ordered it, making this the...
Ask a Ford mechanic what they think of the 1.5 & older 2.0 EcoBoost engines. Spoiler alert, they don't like them, way too many problems, especially with blown head gaskets. Now add the constant start/stop of a Hybrid setup, where the block/head are constantly being heated, allowed to cool...
I see two potential issues with them.
1) Do the mirrors still fold inwards, or do the brows contact the glass and prevent fully folding?
2) Does the outer edge affect or reduce the field of view outward and away from the vehicle?
I do think they might help prevent rain/snow on the mirror...
Here's our current policy, as the 24-25 renewal hasn't yet been issued:
Full Annual Premium on the Maverick is $825.00, including the Premier Roadside Assistance & Responsible Driver Plan charge of $23.00 shown on the 2nd page. A little higher than my wife's Crosstrek, but not hugely given...
What's the weight on the Scamp, is is under 2000 lbs loaded for use?
And what windshield rattle? - I've somehow missed posts about the windshield rattle issue, and haven't noticed one in my '23. Just very heavy or sharp bumps have a slight noise from somewhere, which could even be something in...
Missed adding the cargo management (rail/cleat) on the rollover form 22-23, so I bought them with the help of my brother's employee discount. Still had to toss in a little cash, but now have them. Cargo box looked odd without them, given there's the recessed area for them.
But that car-jacker might figure it out sooner than when the truck dies on them with the double honk if the key is removed (or it thinks it is) when running. Although I went to press the button, must not have pressed it in far enough or missed the button, and she double honked as I started to...
You can turn it off for 6 months at a time in the settings. Mine didn't alert until I had the truck for 6 months, as the dealer must have turned it off during PDI. - They actually remembered to remove the shipping bracket from the driver underside behind the wheel....although they neglected to...
I usually keep them a couple over the 35psi on the placard, to allow for cooler weather. Tire pressure roughly drops or raises 1 PSI for every 10 Degree swing in temperature. Once the warm summer weather is here to stay, I'll adjust them as necessary.
