Sliding rear window visibility issue
Yes for me it is an issue as it obscures my line of site from the mirror straight back to the end of the truck. My eyes seem to focus on the dark small window frame and not what is behind me.

For those who state about removing the head restraints (note restraint not a headrest) doing that does not help as the dark window frame still has my eyes focused on the frame.

I have also found the window to be useless compared to the window I had on my 1998 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCab.

That is why I ordered my MY23 Maverick XLT Hybrid with no sliding window.

I didn't think I would like it at first.
After 3-4 days it becomes normal and natural and blends in. I don't really "see" it any more.

I don't open it very often, but the once or twice a month I open it, it is really nice. Even helpful for long, light weight items.

Doesn’t bother me a’bit. Here’s a view from the inside.

Looks good to me, just needs a quick clean.

Real trucks don't even need a rear view mirror. The Mav is a real truck.
They don't need rear windows either. People act like they've never driven a cargo van or a box truck before. And 15 years ago we didn't have backup cameras. People complaining about this seems nitpicky.

I wouldn’t want to put a lot of weight on the window, Lowes and Home Depot charge $80 for delivery which isn’t bad since lumber is so expensive now.
Or you can rent their truck for $20.

Looks like both of these are auto slides

That's what I have in Lariat. Very clean look without the manual slider. No issues seeing out, even with the headrests in place. The darker tint isn't an issue for me either, as I have always tinted my side windows as dark as the law allows in Texas. Seeing out at night is not a problem either.

No visibility issues for me with the rear sliding window. Keeps the car cool when parked in hot weather.

It’s a small window. I get the airflow and transport of lumber advantages but I’m mainly concerned about visibility. This is directed to all those who already have a Maverick with this feature. What is the visibility like looking through the mirror? I’m unsure whether to cancel this option as my build date per my dealer is any day now. Haven’t received that email from Ford but dealer says it will likely come in a few days so any changes need to be made now.
like most of you I have no visibility problems with the window. I need the rear headrest to hold my rain hat or cowboy hat. my dog also likes the window but she forgets to close it when we get home.

Exactly right. I don’t even see it anymore. Have my Maverick for 8 months now.

Limo tint helps a lot when drivers behind leave their brights on.

Definitely the way to go. I so rarely have back seat passengers that from the back of the driver's seat to the trunk of my car looks brand new compared to driver/passenger area. The headrests can go.
I agree I removed the headrests and its a huge improvement… they are easy to put back in if I ever had passengers
