I need something with great gas mileage as I will be doing a lot of visitation of the sick and shut-ins and going to events in nearby cities. I've never owned a truck, so I end up borrowing my FIL's Silverado a few times a year when I need to haul something from Home Depot, IKEA, etc, and most of those times the Mav would have done it easily. I also like to go camping, chopping firewood, and helping people move, so I like the idea of having a bed. I like how DIY friendly it is with flexbed inserts, 12v pigtails, and the FITs system.

We went down to a one car family a little over two years ago when I left my job to go to seminary and sold my Chevy Volt. When I get sent to a church after graduation in May, my income will be modest but sufficient so I need a vehicle with good fuel economy that is affordable. Mav is cheaper than a Prius with better utility. I ordered a XL hybrid with 360 and towing. I would have liked leather and push start like in our Odyssey, but this will be just fine for my needs.

There are times that I will buy something that just won't fit in a car or suv. Like lawnmower, big screen tv, hot water heater, ect....... Now I don't have to find someone with a truck. And I bought a small trailer. For the things that won't fit in the bed. Hard to do that with a car

It will be used as a farm truck. It is the only truck in current production that I can reach to the middle of the bed to get tools, feed, fencing and so forth.

Totalled my Subaru Crosstrek last winter and bought an old RAV4 to have something immediately. I liked the Crosstrek and would have run it to 200k miles, but that really work out!

A Mav allow me to:
  • keep a smaller car
  • keep AWD as a New Englander commuting 25 miles through the woods every day
  • get decent mileage
  • expand utility to throw stuff in the back without needing to borrow my wife's car & trailer
  • be able to tow a trailer without borrowing my wife's car
  • end up paying around 30k for a new car.

Over the last 10 years I've been a mini SUV driver, a Mercury Mariner & my current Chevy Equinox. I tow a small utility trailer with all my tent camping gear and that will continue. The price is right but the main reason is the hybrid engine.

I have a small mobile auto detailing business and the size of the bed on the Maverick is just right. Being able to reach the bed from any side to reach equipment and supplies really helps as well as not being such a large bed, keeps everything from sliding around. The F150 and the current Ranger sit too high and the cost is factor on these also. Also I like a small truck as it reminds of my Dad's 1992 Ranger I used to drive. I am hoping I get my 23 Mav as I waited because for the most part I do not like getting the first year, not that I could though

A truck shaped carlike handling quick daily driver with an oversized trunk is what I'm gonna use it for. I ordered an EcoBoost with the 4k tow group, not because I'm gonna haul anything but haul butt.

The 4K tow has the basics to start upgrades. It has heavier duty axles, a more performance minded differential gear ratio, bigger radiator, and an auxiliary trans cooler.

The plans are wider stickier tires on 18x8 aftermarket aluminum wheels, an Eibach spring 2"-3" drop, heavier duty Steeda rear sway bar, Steeda strut tower brace, engine and exhaust mods, a performance tune. Gonna look into seeing if brembo brakes will fit off the hot rod focus RS.

Gonna make my own maverick RS.

I retired last May and moved from northern Michigan to upstate South Carolina a week after retiring. My 2018 F150 barely fit in our new townhome's driveway, and my wife had little wiggle room backing out of our 1-car garage with the F150 parked in the driveway. So, I sold the F150 and ordered the Maverick the end of October. I wanted great gas mileage, smaller size, and hauling capabilities, so the Maverick fit the bill! I really enjoyed the F150, it was my first pick-up, but it was just too big for my needs.
ordered mine from up around you I presume, in Easley. Parents have their retirement home (not yet retired though) in piedmont so it’ll be an easy trip to get it when/if it gets built.

purchasing my Maverick for mostly space and home projects. Wife and I just had our first kid in august and wifey doesn’t feel too comfortable about having the little guy in my ‘15 5spd nissan Versa. She has a rogue so we wont be doing much family traveling in the mav but it’ll do everything I need. Sold my 08 F150 XL 5spd regular cab in May so in addition to the above I also WANT a bell or whistle…hell I’ll be happy to have electric locks and windows. 😂

My first pickup was a 1989 Dodge Dakota then went to a 1990 Chevy Silverado and have been a Chevy owner until just last month when I sold my 2013 Chevy Silverado with under 38000. I am 62 years young and don't need that large of vehicle anymore. The Maverick with the EcoBoost engine and AWD will serve me well and can still pull a camper. I live in South Dakota where it has snow on the ground 5-6 months out of the year.

Over the years, I have had full size Ford trucks, and then a midsize Dodge Dakota. I live in the sticks, but don't haul loads as big as I used too. (Like 5 loads of manure in one day for the garden. LOL) The Maverick Hybrid is perfect for what I mostly do nowadays. Drive into town, make 4 or 5 stops and come home. It will bring back anything I need to buy at Lowes. The gas mileage was the big thing for me.

A large part of why the Maverick appeals to me is its bed. I can equip the truck with a hitch mounted lift to move my heavy (around 250 pounds) power wheelchair in and out of the bed, and the bed has tie downs to secure it.

The bed is also useful as a more conventional cargo area to hold varied cargo if I choose to use my folding manual chair, which can be stowed in the back seat area.

Trucks are also somewhat more friendly to modifications than a sedan would be. For example, it's easier and cleaner to install a HAM radio antenna and head unit in the Maverick than it is in say.. a Honda Accord.

Also, my family lives in an area of the country where it snows and it is a very rural area, though I don't go up there too often. Front wheel drive vehicles are much better in the snow than rear wheel drive vehicles, and equipping snow tires will only help that. Having access to heated seats, a heated steering wheel, heated mirrors, and a heated wiper park are major quality of life features for areas like that.

The most advanced vehicle I have ever owned would be dwarfed by even a base XL Maverick, so having the opportunity to have a Lariat with the luxury package, with its adaptive cruise and lane centering, blind spot warning, brake hold, LED headlights, (etc) will be very nice.

Having a hybrid for the mileage benefits would be a first for me.

The fact that the entire package costs under $35,000 ever after price hikes and supply chain issues in late 2022 issues, is very nice.

1) Gas mileage of the hybrid. After 7000 miles averaging 43.8 mpg. You had to see the cost of gas going up with the policies of Washington.
2) Need a bed to do the occasional 4x8 sheet of plywood for my woodworking hobby or the 30 bags of mulch.
3) Comfortable room in the back seat.
4) Ability to bring home my flea market finds
5) Always wanted a truck, 68 yrs old before I got one that fits me so well
6) Price - I was less than 22k before sales tax out the door.

Finally because I wanted one.

Pretty much all of the above including canoe camping and motorcycle hauling. Anybody remove the window to install a bunk inside the bed/cap? Those bed tents look a little weird and ungainly.

I saw the price of gas going up when I ordered the Mav over a year ago. Thought I was going to be sitting pretty this summer but, nope. Still waiting for Ford to get their stuff together so I can give them some money. Went last winter without heated seats, probably gonna be another winter?

I'm early 70s in age, married, and our last new car purchase was a 2005 Honda Civic sedan (this, after leasing a 1997 Accord). We've owned several used cars over the years. Since 2010 we've had 2 PT Cruisers (one was the GT turbo!), and a 2016 Subaru Outback. However, I drove many new Fords as "company cars" (about 8) since I was in outside sales for over 23 years (Escort & Taurus wagons, an Aerostar, 2-3 Expeditions, and the last was a 2015 FLEX). When I heard about the '22 Ford Maverick with a standard 2.5L hybrid FWD drivetrain, I was very interested (I currently have a 2016 Prius we bought used in 2019). I spoke with my wife & we ordered a '23 XLT 2.5L hybrid (Options: Hot Pepper Red, Luxury Pkg., CoPilot360, & Spray-in bedliner) in Sept. '22 and just got it delivered last week on Oct. 16! In ordering we liked it as a "family car" for 1) the size & easy parking, 2) that it sits higher than a sedan, 3) its four doors, to sit 4 adults, 4) the 37+ MPG, 5) the short bed for utility, and 6) all at a relatively low Price (when ordered it was $26.5k plus options).

Bought mine as a daily driver/commuter. Love the EcoBoost. I have used the bed a few times for hauling stuff for home improvement since I got it. I use it mostly like a large trunk for groceries though. Fantastic truck. Did a 3500 mile road trip this summer and averaged 36mpg with an ecoboost so I cant complain. I love the customization that can be done on these. So many things out there to accessorize it to just the way you want it. I have done a few mods, and a lot of accessories to mine.
