I don’t fit Fords demographics. I’m 70 and have owned too many F150 4x4s to count. It was just time to downsize to something my wife could get into easily and the great mpg is an added bonus.
Mine was a right-sizing effort too.

Don't think I need a name for mine. I never/rarely drive my wife's Escape, and she's never driven my Maverick. No need to mention which vehicle I'm taking when I leave.

I didn't name my lawnmower either. :)

I have never named my vehicles, but I got the Oedro floor mats that have a metal badge and decided put a line on the first “O” to turn it into a “P”. Seems fitting due to the truck’s COO.
Pedro.

I saw a story on here that some dealer said he didn't like velocity blue much, didn't sell many, and he called it mascara blue. Somebody I work with has an alto blue and was saying they like my velocity blue, and they mentioned the mascara as a color.

So,,, my truck became "Little mascara" its a song by the replacements, probably from the 1990s.

"All she ever wanted was someone to take care of her,,, all she ever needed, was a little mascara, just a little mascara.

I've had the maverick for 8 months+, and it probably needs a name. If I say, "the truck", my wife would probably think I'm talking about my Expedition. It's a lot more "truck like" than the Maverick.
So as a result, I've been calling it "my car". But it feels weird cause it's not a car.

In married life, we only had one named vehicle - a 1991 GMC rally van with the 6.2 diesel. Big, tough, but welcoming to all (it could carry everything and anybody) and she was named Sheila. It felt right.
When I was single, I had a couple of male names and one female name (61 BelAir, 6 cyl, 2-spd PowerGlide Trans, beige color --- she was Lucille).
But the Maverick? I'm not sure about the gender. so, I need to pick an androgynous name. Like Pat. or Dana. Or Gail. Gene/Jean. But something tougher than that. Maybe an "initial name"? Like, PJ? or, "JT" for Jeff's truck? "LT" for Little Truck??

I'll let you know if I pick something. I like the initials....

The main reason I named mine was to keep things sorted in the Fordpass app.

When I ordered in 2021 I named mine Goose (because why not).

Goose later got a VIN and production date, but ended up being one of the 2022s that didn't get built.

(The irony that I made a Maverick joke out of the name and that Goose didn't make it home is not lost on me.)

When I had to reorder a 23 once Goose was canceled I changed it up and named the next one Patience.

No one who's ordered a Maverick needs an explanation on why I chose that name, lol.

In practice I don't really call my vehicles by name, but we shall see.

I went a little cheesy when named in the Ford account.
