I call mine Chachki...

Explanation from Urban dictionary, quote:

"Chachkies is the yiddish word for trinkets and collectables, AKA "dusk collectors" that you would find in an old lady's house."

Comparing to to 25 years old F15 from last century, the Mav has so many buttons that the chances are most of them will not be used, if ever. My head is still spinning with all of the options available.

PS: I do like the SUV, it's nice to drive even without all of the chachkies....

Since my truck is Area 51, I've taken to calling mine "Max."

As part of a reference I don't think anyone on this forum will get. 😆

I started calling mine Thomas. I don't know, the Area 51 in the bright sunlight kind of reminds me of Thomas the tank engines color. :geek:

Thinking about names again before my ‘23 Area 51 arrives. The Alto Blue was going to be Alto Ego or Sapphire but the CarbGray hybrid entered the scene first and her name is Tyger (Black tigers are rare).

I’m thinking this girl’s name might be Opal, Iris or Moonstone since I hear the color is different in every light. Or maybe genderless- Moody Blu, Sky or Blu Moon. I want to get one of those cubby covers with her name to welcome her. I probably need to sit in an Area 51 to decide.

First you will notice I referred to my new maverick as “He”. This is the first step in the naming process, determining if the Maverick will be a “He” or “She”.
But what if your Maverick doesn't identify as a "he"?

The great military “craft” of history has oft been referred to as “she”, whether that be aircraft or ships. Not always “she”. USS Regan for example. Even though named after Ronald Regan (he) many referred to that great ship as “she”. Call your maverick whatever you want. It’s a hunk of metal, plastic, rubber, etc. made by human beings. People of old loved their horses which was their mode of transportation and oft named their horses. Do what you want. It’s a girl . . . It’s a boy . . . It’s an it . . . who really cares but you. I personally like naming my vehicles. True, you can name a horse and that horse will recognize its name and will come to you when you call its name. Maverick however will just sit there no matter how loud or how long you call its name. It’s all in fun. It’s your vehicle and call it whatever you want: it, thing, he, she, or whatever. It’s creator (Ford) has already given it a name . . . Maverick. It for identity. All of humans also have names, for identity. All in good fun . . . or not?

I call my Mav "Tonka Truck" per this video I posted showing it surrounded by some massive trucks.

My bro-in-law thinks it's cute and wonders if I let the kids drive it on the sidewalk.

Had to pick a nickname for it in the phone app, so I went with Murder Steer after the old legend.

I just call mine Mav or the Mav. I use a name as a means of responding to my wive when she asks which vehicle are we going in.

Hello everyone out there in Maverick land. A most important subject we all need to discuss now. The naming of our Mavericks. To start this out, I will proceed to provide the name of my new Maverick, once “He” arrives. First you will notice I referred to my new maverick as “He”. This is the first step in the naming process, determining if the Maverick will be a “He” or “She”. I have decided my new maverick will be a “He” and “His” name will be “MAX”. Now the story why I have made this decision. The first of the year, my wife and I purchased a new Toyota Venza, Ruby Red in color. Now since my wife will be the primary driver of this beauty, and the color is ruby red, it just seemed to fit calling the car “Ruby”. Ruby is a pretty car. Ruby just doesn’t go well as a He, so it only makes sense to call our Venza, She. So we call our Venza “Ruby” because she is pretty and red in color. She is an awesome car. Hybrid by the way. Now the reason why I’m naming my Maverick “MAX” is because he is just a little guy. A want-a-be manly truck. Just a play with words here. So my little Maverick is going to be “MAX”. Build his self esteem. Besides, Ruby needs a boyfriend and Max needs a girlfriend. Weird you are probably thinking to yourself at this time. Awe yes I must agree with you on that. All in good fun. The naming of your transportation is all in fun. Sounds better saying, ”Max” and I are going to the store vs. I’m taking the pickup to the store. So I would be interested in what everyone will be naming there Mavericks. I’m sure there will be many out there who will think I’m a nut case and don’t name their vehicles. That’s fine, you don’t need to respond to this. It will be interesting to hear some of the names you guys come up with. Big Red, Little Joe, Sweety Pie . . . Oh the possibilities are endless. Let’s hear the names you guys are coming up with. Hope to hear back.
Her name is Sky her pronouns are FX4 and AWD 😎 don’t usually name them.
