It's Lowered...But... issues with Eibach lowering springs

Thanks for posting those. Looking at my pics they don't look that much different except they removed the isolator sleeve. The part number is different, so I am very curious...

did I miss your pics and/or part number? I see jewc's pics but actually don't know if that's the good or bad spring.

I installed the springs myself, so there's no money involved in me putting the updated springs on. That said, I'm guessing I'll need to have it aligned again, so there's $120 I'll have to eat for their mistake...

Yea it will need aligning if you pull the front end apart again.

Good catch. Yea it does appear a tad shorter. Anyone with the new ones, after you install please post your reviews and pics. I am very curious if they in fact resolved the issue.

Anyone else a little concerned that corrected spring has the EXACT same part number? They couldn't have just added another "A" or any other marking? How is anyone unaware of this supposed to know if they end up with a problematic spring or not?

I was, but I just got an email from the guy I have been dealing with at Eibach and he said I could pass along this info. He tried to join the forum but it wouldn't let him due to his affiliation with Eibach. So here is what he had to say:

"Again to clarify, these were developed on our house vehicle and we have had no noises or issues in our testing, we certainly would not have sent these out if that was present. That’s not how we have remained in business for 36 years. Due to the possibility of tolerance variance in both the vehicles and our springs we reduced the overall outer diameter of the body 6mm. Additionally, we reduced the preload on the spring by removing the center coils. The spring rate has not changed (still 175lbin) and yield the same installed ride height and ride quality. These guys might not see it in his previous post, but if there are any concerns about any part of this process they should touch base with our sales team at [email protected] with the subject line: Maverick Spring Replacement – (Last Name)"

I just opened my box of Eibach springs this afternoon. Please let us know how it goes with these new springs. Ride, height, and the clunking noise. This will determine weather or not I decide to return them for a refund, or have them send the revised front springs. And yes the part number should have changed maybe making the A in the PN# into a B showing the revision.

Are they going to send you the new updated front springs?

Here is a comparison of the original front springs #F11-35-057-31-FA for an Ecoboost AWD on the left with the new version spring on the right that I just picked up the other day from Eibach will call in Corona. The new spring has the exact same part number as the old one!
Glad I held up on my install!! Now my question is will I still have to cut my front bump stops 35mm shorter or at all because the new spring is shorter?

I think they left the part number the same for Marketing reasons.

Yes, you will. If you leave the stock bump stop in it with a drop spring you are losing that 20mm of travel they want you to cut off. Thus it will bottom out even more.
